Despite what you might have read elsewhere, the forgotten has not been officially cancelled. The show may actually return with new episodes this season. But, don’t get too excited just yet.
ABC’s the forgotten details the cases taken on by a group of talented civilians once the police can’t go any further. The series features the talents of Slater, Michelle Borth, Heather Stephens, Bob Stephenson, Rochelle Aytes, Anthony Carrigan, Judith Hoag, Lily Rains, and Elisha Cuthbert.
ABC recently did some reshuffling of their primetime schedule and decided to replace the March 16th and 23rd episodes of the forgotten. It was reported that the network was also calling the March 9th episode, the “season finale.”
An ABC representative has confirmed to us that that’s not the case. He tells us that the network didn’t promote this week’s episode as the season finale and may still air the remaining two installments sometime in the next several months.
The episode that aired this week, “Donovan Doe,” was originally scheduled to run on March 23rd and finish the season. That makes sense since an ongoing storyline, the fate of Alex’s long-missing daughter, was resolved in a shocking twist. The episode works well as a season finale and very likely will have to serve as the series finale as well. As we’ve discussed before, it’s a longshot at best that the forgotten will be renewed for a second season because of low ratings.
If by chance it is renewed, there’s a good chance that Cuthbert won’t be part of it. The actress has been signed for a lead role on a new comedy pilot for ABC. Happy Endings revolves around a bride (Cuthbert) and a groom who break up at the altar and try to work out how to stay friends with their four compadres.
What do you think? Are you happy that ABC at least aired the season (likely series) finale? Do you think they’ll air the remaining two episodes?

We love this show in Russia. So, please bring it back.
this is a very good show with good morals and a good leader that is christian slater. you can tell by the hints at chemistry and development with the characters the writers are holding back cause they are unsure of what will happen th the show. abc needs to say we’re goin to keep it and increase advertising to get the ratings to keep it going.
Please don’t cancel The Forgotten. I never miss it.
I had another idea. Since CBS was smart enough to pick up “Medium” after NBC stupidly dropped it, why not pick up “The Forgotten”, too?!?!?!? I seems like an idea fit for CBS and I’m sure they could find room in their lineup. Come on, guys, get smart and don’t let this fine program get away.
I love this show. My family and I look forward to seeing something positive on TV. Not the trash reality shows that corrupt peoples minds. Then you wonder why the world is the way it is. ….. Duh!
Please bring back the forgotten the show was great. I loved knowing it was coming on every wensday at 10 give it a differnt time slot that will bring the rating in.There are other shows that suck so take them off. like the good wife now that show stinks. so bring back the forgotten.
“The Forgotten” is a TV show that could be instrumental in providing an entertaining and thought-provoking mindset for a vast fanbase/viewership. It’s an excellent idea and can only help advance the potential of humanity. I want to do my best to be the voice of sanity… and not see ABC can ANOTHER good TV show, due to a vastly de-sensitized audience.
Keep the show going. It is a good show and actually gives a good storyline. It is about people that actually care about those that are gone and the famillies that are left behind.
Get rid of the reality shows. They are showing our kids about drinking and sleeping around and just being crappy people to each other and you can be on TV. We need to get back to caring about ourselves and others. Keep decent shows on.
I love this show. I hope it continues on for a while. It’s the only show that I look forward to each week. As for Cuthbert, I’m Ok with her leaving but would be sad if Michelle Borth left-she’s so darn cute. I only started watching this show to see Christian Slater but am so happy that it’s a good show too. I like how each show is wrapped up in one episode but, as long as it remains in a 10 pm slot, I could watch continuations. (I only watch TV after my daughter is in bed.) I’ll keep… Read more »
I am with all of you. It is a shame that great shows like the forgotten get cancelled way to early, for the sake of “no brain cells working” tv. While I enjoy some reality tv, this type of show consumes about 90% of my dvr schedule. I really hope ABC chooses to keep it around and give it a chance.
Time cancel to reality shows(every stinkn’ one of them) so that great shows like the forgotten can really shine and not get unjustly cancelled.
I agree Corey, I am so tired of the Immoral, ranting and raving shows, that I barely have the TV on anymore. If I do, I am watching Burn Notice or The Closer.
This show was a good show, and maybe if they took more care in the show, and not tie it up in a neat package every week, people might get excited about it.
Please renew this show, and take away the tacky, uncouth reality shows.
This really makes me mad! Good shows only come once in a lifetime and after Christain Slater’s My Own Worst Enemy (bad script and idea all together – Christain was excellent though) I was happy that he found an excellent idea for a show that I highly enjoyed. Yes eached episode made me ball my eyes out at the end but it is a GREAT…NO EXCELLENT show – COME ON MASSES – AIRNT YOU TIRED OF STUPID REALITY TV! Keep this show on and watch it – there is so much stupid crap staying alive because Americans are deevolving Too… Read more »
My husband and I love this show. We look forward to watching it every week. I’m so tired of finally finding a show I like, and then it’s cancelled. So sick of Reality T.V. getting all the ratings. The Forgotten is awesome!
I hope the network decides to give this show another chance. It’s the only show I actually looked forward to watching. It’s also my teenage daughter’s favorite and it’s one we can watch together….no profanity or nudity!! Please keep this show on the air.
