TV show description:
This single-camera comedy follows the story of three grown siblings who return home after their father’s death. They unexpectedly find themselves poised to inherit a vast fortune of more than $20 million — if they can adhere to their late father’s wishes.
If any of the Goodwin kids feel like they deserve the money, then it’s Henry (Scott Foley), the eldest child and an overachieving surgeon. He sees himself as a role model for his less successful siblings — and reminds them every chance he gets. Returning home forces Henry to question the choices he’s made, especially as he reconnects with his first love and true soulmate, Lucinda (Felisha Terrell, then Kat Foster).
Chloe (Becki Newton), the middle child, was a math prodigy, and her unofficial role as “the smart one” of the family still sends Henry into fits of jealousy. But long ago, Chloe gave up academics in favor of being the popular girl. Now, through a series of hidden messages, her late father leads Chloe back to her old love of numbers — and back to the person she’s meant to be.
Youngest sibling Jimmy (Jake Lacy, then T.J. Miller) could use the inheritance the most. He’s a small-time ex-con and a dull-witted guitarist who’s deep in debt to a loan shark. Though Jimmy may be the family screw-up, he has more heart than the rest. Like his siblings, Jimmy’s also returning to something in this town — his eight-year-old daughter.
Pulling the strings from beyond the grave is the children’s late father, Benjamin (Beau Bridges), a college math professor. Guilty over not parenting his kids better, Benjamin has left behind a series of unique challenges — administered by his estate attorney April (Melissa Tang). Through these tasks, Benjamin hopes he can get his children to rediscover their true selves and learn the lessons he failed to instill in them while he was alive.
Episode #7 — The Box
Chloe and Jimmy try keep their respective relationships a secret from Henry, who they fear will judge them to no end. Meanwhile, the siblings realize how much their father is controlling their lives beyond the grave, which leads them to figure out the answer to the final clue.
First aired: July 1, 2013
What do you think? Do you like The Goodwin Games TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
The mistery in this show was refreshing and exiting. You can’t debut a series in the middle of the season and expect people to know about it. they didn’t give the show a chance. I really love this show and now I am left with a bunch of questions that can’t be answered. Ratings where poor because people didn’t know it existed !!!!! Bring the damn show back you vlippen idiots !!!!
Who the heck was Elijah (the black guy who inherited $1 million dollars) supposed to be? Anyone got any ideas? If they’re going to cancel a show they should at least tie up all the loose ends!
Fox bring the show back dumb asses
No don’t cancel this show, we love this show fox never truly gave it a chance with debuting it late in the season. I want to know how it ends especially since the episode when jimmy was trying to mend things with his little girl and their supposedly deceased dad that was playing all the games showed up to get the little girl. So is he not dead was that just someone imagining him ugh i hate when networks do this leave things hanging like that to people who loved the show!! They should have to do a true finale… Read more »

Just discovered this show on demand. I think it is clever and entertaining. I want to see more. This show is fun. Love it!
I just finished watching this show on Hulu so glad to hear it hasn’t yet been canceled. Please keep it and let all of us advise us when showing again!
We both LOVE this show — excellent writing — very refreshing! DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!!
This is the first show that I have found interesting in years. I had all but given up on prime-time television due to the incessant desire for networks to outdo one another with a “Wow” factor. Reality (which is as fake as it gets), smut and vulgarity seem to be that “Wow” factor that many viewers have begun to tune out. Then along comes “The Goodwin Games”. I actually caught the third episode by the fluke of being at my Daughter’s house while she was watching it. Her interest piqued mine and boy am I glad. What a treasure! I… Read more »
