TV show description:
Patrick Jane (Simon Baker), a consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), pays attention to the details. As he stands at a crime scene, he shifts his gaze over the particulars that others often miss and mentally sorts through the information. His surveillance skills have repeatedly helped the CBI solve serious crimes.
He’s well known within the organization for his observation skills, as well as his past scam work when he pretended to be a psychic medium. What his fellow agents don’t know is that Patrick’s intense dedication to solving crimes stems from the losses he’s suffered in his personal life.
Patrick’s crime-solving methods are unconventional to be sure and Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) is opposed to him joining her unit. It’s not always easy for her to admit when Patrick is right but she’s always quick to criticize when he crosses the line.
The other members of her team include Kimball Cho (Tim Kang), Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman), and rookie Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti). They’re all united in their opinion of Patrick. While he is reckless, Patrick is both dedicated and skilled at solving cases. The proof is in the details.

Lisbon and Jane decide to get married but a killer named Lazarus is bent on revenge and tries to take their happy ending. He’s ultimately arrested and the lovebirds get to enjoy their special day with friends and family in attendance.

Please renew TYHE MENTALIST for another season. The writing and acting are particularly strong, and this show deserves another season. The episode shown on January 21 was extremely well done. I for one vote to renew THE MENTALIST for another season. If THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA can be renewed, then THE MENTALIST certainly deserves another season. I think you will be losing a prime program if you follow through with your decision to cancel this show. I sincerely hope you will reconsider your decision and renew this series.
The Mentalist is one of the best shows ever on television. In my opinion as a retired literature and theatre instructor, the writing and cast of the program are excellent!
LOVE the Mentalist. I hope that it will be renewed. If a show like NCIS can stay popular year after year I don’t know why the Mentalist can’t.

This has been one of my favorite shows since it began. I loved watching the progression of the love relationship between Jayne and Lisbon. The show has a unique quality using
Jayne’s gifts to solve crimes. I will miss this series.

I repeat my previous comment, one of the few shows worth watching. Take off one of the NCIS spinoffs, they are boring, or one of the sitcoms, they are not funny. C. Green

I am devastated that it is being cancelled. It is my favorite show.
The network brass are idiots. This is a class show. Just because the actiors aren’t constantly falling in bed with each other doesn’t mean it isn’t a quality show. We need more shows like this instead of the mind numbing stupidity that the network is giving us.stop pandering to the uneducated idiots who watch TV. Keep this show on the air.

The Mentalist is one of the best shows on TV. Whoever is making the decision to not continue this show seriously needs their head examined. The only reason there was a drop in the ratings is because the powers that be put it up againstThe Walking Dead. Schedule it on another time slot & I would guarantee the ratings would be high again!!
My husband and I were both devastated to hear that our favorite show was being cancelled. I totally agree with the other comments about this being one of the few shows that isn’t trashy, and is a good clean show. We watch the Mentalist twice on Thursday’s and again on Sunday. There are lots of horrible, mindless shows on TV. Please keep one that is truly entertaining and makes you think.
I agree, as I used to watch a lot of programs in prime time. I am down to The Mentalist and NCIS (WDC/NO). Past that it is Discovery channel and those like it. Current prime time is terrible, as I have tried some of them.
These people that have left comments before have been absolutely correct about the content of most shows going downhill. Its more trashy, foul NOT uplifting at all. Thats why I dumped cable etc. I was paying 110$ a month for about 10- to 15 channels I liked. I also bought antenna set (2) that brings in the reg channels in HD just fine 60$ once ,not 60$ a monthand netflix is great. Anyway YES YES YES BRING BACK SIMON AND THE MENTALIST SERIES. To cancel The Mentalist is a large error on the part of the TV station and producers of this amazing funny show especially now that Lisbon and Jane are together. The show was already great but now that they are together the shows going to become even better! Before, Jane was only focused on finding and giving revenge to Red John but now he’s dead and the one thing Jane said before is “once Red John is then he’ll finally find someone special and have children again”. Please keep the Mentalist on. It was worth watching!!! We always were waiting to see what Patrick Jane was up too and how Cho reacted.
