You know that old line about “Please, don’t shoot the messenger”? Well, The CW has done just that. The network has cancelled The Messengers after one season. Only three episodes have aired thus far.
On The Messengers TV show, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others. The cast includes Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, J. D. Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado.
The move to cancel the series doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Messengers has performed quite poorly so far, even for a Friday night show. Last week’s installment hit a new low with just 650,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
For now, it looks like the series will stay on the air to finish out its run of 13 total episodes.

I am watching the show and just found out that it is the last episode. I am so disappointed! The show might not have been off to a good start, but it got more interesting and I haven’t missed an episode. I agree that the show did not get its fair share of promotion like the other CW shows. It’s a wonderful show and I’d like to see another season of it.
the messengers is really good. I love this show
I like it – interesting concept and pertinent to the evil vs. good that does exist – but I don’t usually watch it on Friday eve – rather access it on XFinity at another time. Perhaps the CW should check to see the viewer numbers in total and not just for Fri. eve.
I love the messengers, & I think it would be a huge mistake to cancel season 2, season 1 has been a really really great season. Me & mom have been watching it together and we both love it! Hope season two doesn’t cancel please!!
I love the messengers. I watch every episode. I want to know how it ends. Please don’t be like NBC, they never end a show.
I honestly thought the messengers was amazing. They should bring back the show and see how popular it would get, I know I would watch it. In fact I watch the messengers over and over again because of how good it was. Thank you for making such a wonderful t.v series.

I love the story line and was already looking forward to the season two. Why cancel it. Please renew it its a great film
Well that is disappointing that it’s already been cancelled. I just found out about from a friend that mentioned it is a good show. So I got some popcorn and a movie night and watched the last 12 aired episodes. I was really getting into it. I don’t understand what they are expecting out of there shows but 1 season for a new series doesn’t give many people chance to hear about it and get the chance to watch it to boost there ratings. I am so disappointed this show was canceled. It is a wonderful story and was not given a fair chance. The characters are wonderful and there are enough twists and turns in the plot to make it very interesting. I cannot believe quality shows are cancelled and other shows are renewed. Very disappointed in CW!
Please bring the show back! It is a great, relevant concept. Please, just 1 more season!!
