You know that old line about “Please, don’t shoot the messenger”? Well, The CW has done just that. The network has cancelled The Messengers after one season. Only three episodes have aired thus far.
On The Messengers TV show, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others. The cast includes Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, J. D. Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado.
The move to cancel the series doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Messengers has performed quite poorly so far, even for a Friday night show. Last week’s installment hit a new low with just 650,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
For now, it looks like the series will stay on the air to finish out its run of 13 total episodes.

A season 2 is a must
Bring back The Messengers for another season! It is a fabulous story about good versus evil. The characters are gaining depth with each episode. It’s interesting that “God” picked very flawed people to do his work. It’s not a preachy series and the scene in the chapel of the hospital showed symbols for many religions. I love this show!
My husband and I thought it was a pretty good show!! Especially since it had a good story line, nobody taking off their clothes or excessive profanity!! We’re watching it on Netflix now, but would love to see how the story ends!!!! Season 2 is a must!!!!
Great show! It’s incredible that we won’t be able to see the end. Up to now, I never saw a story with no ending. Season 2 is a must.

We want a second season
I really enjoyed this Show it has meaning and is very interesting. I would much rather watch a shoe like this then a reality show that’s all people seem to care about now days. Please Netflix pick up this show!!
I’m very disappointed this show has been canceled, I didn’t even realize it was until I finished the first season. You guys should definitely reconsider bringing it back. A lot of people don’t even watch the TV and or busy on Friday nights. A lot of us go straight to Netflix, thus why it’s a popular hit there. Read the reviews here! They want the show back. And look at the rating’s on netflix! Pretty good. Please bring back this show.

Lisa My whole family actually all sat together every night to watch first season on Netflix. A lot of people, are busy on Friday nights I think you should reconsider as long as Netflix is around… there are several shows we have watched and then was left hanging Bring it Back Please there needs to be an endiing
Season 1 was excellent and I just found out that there will not be a season 2, how very disappointing! I work long hours and I tend to record most of the shows I watch and this one would have been a favorite. Please bring it back for another season the end left me in suspense and wanting to see what else the characters can now do with the antichrist. I believe this is a great show and the serious needs to continue, “BRING IT BACK”!
Just watched season one on Netflix. I was looking forward to season two! Maybe it had rating problems on CW but on Netflix it’s definitely a hit. The show appears to have generated a new fan base. Hoping with enough positive reviews after watching the series on Netflix they will reconsider. Please bring second season for new fans. Watched on 4/22/2016
I LOVED this show I binged watched it before I realized there were only 13 episodes and I was very disappointed why does cw always have to cancel the good shows? at least If it had poor ratings at least create a mini they could have at least made it to where there was an ending.
