You know that old line about “Please, don’t shoot the messenger”? Well, The CW has done just that. The network has cancelled The Messengers after one season. Only three episodes have aired thus far.
On The Messengers TV show, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others. The cast includes Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, J. D. Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado.
The move to cancel the series doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Messengers has performed quite poorly so far, even for a Friday night show. Last week’s installment hit a new low with just 650,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
For now, it looks like the series will stay on the air to finish out its run of 13 total episodes.

Seriously? I watched the whole season in two days in thats how you ended it and there is no second season. You guys are pathetic and only care about your own ****. What about the fans? Your Followers? I hope they can dump your asses and find different programs to follow cause you’re not worth it.

I like some people who have commented have never heard about this show. I stumbled across it on Netflix and I love it. I hope Netflix does pick it up for a season 2.
I personally enjoyed the TV show. To me it really makes you think about what is to come. Granted it will not happen that way, but still. I love the story line. I love the characters. I just can not believe you would just cancel a show after just three episodes. You can’t get a good feel for the show by watching just three episodes. It’s like a book. Well, I have to say that I had never heard of this show and just stumbled accross it recently. The first 4 episodes were a bit disjointed, and as good as I am at suspending my disbelief, I thought I just cant watch this anymore…..but I did anyway and I was SOoooo glad I did. The charactors were better developed, well acted and the storyline became interesting as well as provocative. Things were really starting to click! MY life won’t feel complete until a 2nd season come out of The Messenger. WHY would they do this to us?!?!? HOW do we as fans get another season. Netflix will do just fine picking up season 2 this show!!!!!
Seriously! I’m so mad it was cancelled. My daughter and I loved this show! Please, we need a season 2 or better yet more! How disappointing there won’t be a ending.
This show should have been continued! My 8yo enjoyed watching this with me! Very good show, really should consider season 2.

Ok, I think cancelling The Messengers for season two is the dumbest thing a tv station has done. I just watched all thirteen episodes in as many hours. I’m so hooked!!!! What the heck?! Bring it back! Please!!!
