You know that old line about “Please, don’t shoot the messenger”? Well, The CW has done just that. The network has cancelled The Messengers after one season. Only three episodes have aired thus far.
On The Messengers TV show, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others. The cast includes Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, J. D. Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado.
The move to cancel the series doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Messengers has performed quite poorly so far, even for a Friday night show. Last week’s installment hit a new low with just 650,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
For now, it looks like the series will stay on the air to finish out its run of 13 total episodes.

I loved this show! It was nice to see a show about something bigger than all of us, a show with purpose. Really hoping they reconsider filming season two or turn it into a Netflix series because I could watch this forever 🙂
This show was amazing. I did it know if the show until it was on Netflix. If it was advertised more in the right way there would’ve been way more viewers. There should definitely be a season 2!
I just watched season 1, and I thought it was great. You really need to do a season 2. I really feel that this show was not advertised enough to be recognized because I never heard of it until I saw it on Netflix. Looking forward to seeing another season.

I just finished season 1 and noticed that the show had been cancelled. I am very disappointed I was looking forward to season 2. I didn’t even know about this until I had seen it advertised on Netflix. Please consider a season 2.

I think it’s a terrible idea, if you want more ratings you need to advertise it more…. No one really knows about it. But I think it definitely deserves a second season.
Maybe instead of canceling this series, they should make it available through Netflix. noticed that it had an extremely good rating, almost 5 stars. I watched it this weekend and thought it was extremely good. Very sorry to hear it was cancelled, and hope they will reconsider bringing it back in streaming video.
I found the messengers on Netflix and watched in all this weekend and loved it. I’m was looking for the season 2 start date and was sorry to read it had been cancelled.
OMG I can’t believe people don’t love this show OMG the ratings of 4.5 how is it not a season 2 CW get it together this is not the first time you cancel a good show on your network. My family and I love this show. CW get it together you need new management everyone who agreed for this to be cancelled needs to be fired. Shaking my head. Top level management needs to be fired. Great story line. Need season 2. There is alot more story to run with this show. They need to figure something else out for ratings since most prole dvr and watch Netflix.
