You know that old line about “Please, don’t shoot the messenger”? Well, The CW has done just that. The network has cancelled The Messengers after one season. Only three episodes have aired thus far.
On The Messengers TV show, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others. The cast includes Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, J. D. Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado.
The move to cancel the series doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Messengers has performed quite poorly so far, even for a Friday night show. Last week’s installment hit a new low with just 650,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
For now, it looks like the series will stay on the air to finish out its run of 13 total episodes.

They should have made a second season this show is amazing. It to bad that they canceled it. They shouldn’t have done that.

I cannot believe that the cancelled the show I watched the entire series in 1 day. Then I got my husband addicted. When I checked to find out when they would have series 2, I couldn’t believe that they had canceled it. I hope you guys change your minds.
I am so upset and disappointed I was so looking forward to the season 2. What the heck is wrong with you guys at lest finish the series on Netflix or something. I don’t think I can handle not being able you finish out the story line. Please bring it back Please this can’t be it…..

Extremely disappointed !!!! For show in a long time that just sucked me right in . Binged watched the entire series over two days. Just to go online to see about season two, and find out this!! Again, extremely disappointed!!
I’m in the target demographic (36yr old NYC resident), and I just watched season 1 on Netflix and thought it was amazing/very engaging. What about the selling the rights to Netflix or someone else to keep the show going?
come on! this is a great show! i can usually figure things out before the story ends but this one actually stumped me a few times. made worthy to be watched. you have these STUPID shows with meaningless dribble still showing and this fantastic dramatic edge of your seat watching is removed. UGH!!! how stupid is that. what snot nose punk decided to do that! was his/her vacation interrupted and closed eye pointed out what would be removed because logic clearly says this show would’ve gone VERY FAR, idiots.. how they got that job is beyond my understand.
My family and I became addicted to this show. We finished it all in two days and made almost an event out of it. It brought my family together! I really hope they reconsider. This show is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
Disappointed…
Really sad to learn that once again our sole-less profit seeking entertainment enterprise has killed another Dudley do right show. This is another obvious example of why we are all turning away from mainstream entertainment. Hopefully, there is someone out there recognizing the burgeoning market for this sort of entertainment, and are already working on a media fulfillment campaign. I and my family are tired if being forced to accept over 100 channels of home shopping (we dont want thank you FCC) to get local programing (via satellite, which otherwise is free!) and poor quality cable programming via satellite.
