TV show description:
In this supernatural dramatic series, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others.
In the white-hot sun of the New Mexico desert, scientist Vera Buckley (Shantel VanSanten) watches in fascination as a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash, sending out a shock wave that briefly stops Vera’s heart and panics her techie coworker, Alan Harris (Craig Harris).
Vera is not the only one affected by the blast; she is instantly and mysteriously connected to four other strangers, who also collapse only to miraculously come back to life.
Erin Calder (Sofia Black-D’Elia) is a young mother who’s desperate to protect her seven-year-old daughter from an abusive ex-husband.
Peter Moore (Joel Courtney) is a troubled high school student who is finally able to end the constant bullying he can no longer endure
Raul Garcia (J. D. Pardo) is a federal agent who’s looking to escape his undercover assignment in a violent Mexican drug cartel.
Finally, Joshua Silburn, Jr. (Jon Fletcher) is a charismatic second-generation televangelist who’s following in his father’s footsteps.
Most mysterious of all is the figure known only as The Man (Diogo Morgado). He offers Vera the one thing she wants most in life -– to be reunited with her kidnapped son. This gift comes with a price however and he asks her to help him with one morally complicated task.
That task puts Vera on a collision course with nurse Rose Arvale (Anna Diop) who, after a seemingly random act of violence left her in a coma for seven years, suddenly begins to stir.
As Joshua Jr. prophesied, the wheels of Revelation have begun to turn, and these five newly christened Angels of the Apocalypse may be the only hope for preventing the impending Rapture.
Episode #13 — Houston We Have a Problem
The Messengers face off against the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, whose plan to break the fifth seal could destroy everything our heroes hold dear. It’s up to The Messengers to stop the Horsemen once and for all — at any cost.
First aired: July 24, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like The Messengers TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Omg !!! I’m so mad loved this show watch it every week pizza bring it back !!!
I LOVED THIS SHOW! It was so message based in our era…..it made no believers watch…..It’s a shame messages were canceled yet other shows which are devilish based are on the air! Hum?
I think it they should keep messengers on, great tv show
This is the BEST show I have ever seen. Cancelling it makes No sense as there are still 2 children involved!
Such a good show, but apparently the non believers are the majority, and apparently as well, their toes were stepped on some how. I think it should have not been canceled!. However, I will see the ‘real’ thing one day anyway!
RENEWD
Please bring it back we need more inspiring shows like this.
Why are you canceling all of the good shows! Man this sucks!
I am surprised too, like others have mentioned the scheduling promotion was such that not many got to even know the series even existed, so its pretty unfair to pull the plug on a series with excellent actors good scripts good story lines I fail to see why the series was stopped, it really makes no sense, specially when other series 50 years old with ham actors are televised on other networks, I’m stunned, come on guys value for money please.
No kidding! Hoping The Messengers gets revitalized through a network that will do right by the series. We miss seeing it on Friday nights and would love to watch it in the future–preferably on a different night!
CW didn’t even give it a chance. It’s one of the best things I’ve seen on TV lately. What a shame! Oh well, I guess we can always hope for another Honey BooBoo — that seems to be the mentality these days!
I think it stinks that they cancelled Messengers and kept so many of the stupid fake reality shows. Why cancel something that has a meaning to it and gives something to help understand the problems of today and keep something completely fake and nonsensical as the reality shows that are rehearsed and scripted.
The CW will lose a lot of watchers because of this myself being one.
We watched the CW because of The Messengers. The series deserved a lot better than what the CW gave it–in terms of timing, scheduling and promotion. The show could have been a really valuable asset to TV in general, and certainly for the CW network.
We really loved it–and it definitely has some great possibilities!
It is a crime that this show will be cancelled. It needs another season to build the following you just can’t leave the ending hanging like that please don’t cancell the show
I can not believe you are cancelling the Messenger that was great im so hurt things like this is why some people stop watching shows on regular t.v. because you cancel it without regard of how people feel i really liked the Messenger and im very hurt that you cancel it before it had a chance to take off.
Yup I agree, I’ve had it! If they don’t pick up messengers that’s it. The same goes for Constantine, love that show but it’s all over if it is not renewed I quit that network too! I just did the neilson ratings and I was all about the messengers but did they listen? NOT!
I hope this show wan’t cancelled. It’s really good and there is so much more story to tell. One season? Come on. I love The 100 and I think the Messengers could get the same following if they were in a better time slot. Netflix, please rescue this show!!
