Debuting last September on ABC, The Middle features Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Neil Flynn (Scrubs) as Frankie and Mike Heck. They’re a middle aged, middle-class parents living in Orson, Indiana — home of the world’s largest polyurethane cow.
Mike’s the manager of a quarry and Frankie’s the least successful car salesperson at Ehlert Motors. Together, they do their best to raise their three unique kids; under-achieving Axl (Charlie McDermott), klutzy Sue (Eden Sher), and odd Brick (Atticus Shaffer).
The second season of The Middle debuts on ABC on September 22nd. The first season has just been released on DVD. The three-disc set includes all 24 episodes as well as a pair of special featurettes, unaired scenes, and a gag reel.

LOVE THE MIDDLE!!!!!!!
I so enjoy The Middle. Love the relationship of the husband and wife, love Sue – was like her in school but I did not keep picking my self up, Axl is so like my nephews, Brick’s love of books resonates and his repeating is a great touch – one of my kids had a tick for a couple of years. I don’t watch many shows – watch alot of movies, but this one and Better with you have really caught my eye – keep ’em on!
This is a very warm & yet very witty sitcom. I think the characters and writing are better than Modern Family which I also like.
Great show. Loved every minute of Season 1!
