When The Nate Berkus Show was cancelled earlier this year, some thought that Berkus’ old friend Oprah Winfrey should bring his TV series over to the OWN channel. Well, that’s exactly what’s happened.
Unfortunately, OWN has merely picked up the existing two seasons of Nate Berkus and won’t be producing any new installments. Though local stations can continue to air the Berkus show until September 7th, many have already pulled it off the air.
OWN has also purchased the rights to show the first five seasons of Rachael Ray, a series that continues to run in daytime.
Here’s the press release:

Los Angeles, CA – OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has acquired the exclusive cable rights to “Rachael Ray” from CBS Television Distribution and “The Nate Berkus Show” from Harpo Studios. OWN will air many of the most memorable episodes of “Rachael Ray” from its first five seasons and from seasons one and two of “Nate Berkus.”
“Rachael and Nate are a natural fit for OWN’s expanding daytime programming lineup,” said Erik Logan, president, OWN. “It will be great to have Rachael’s energy and Nate’s upbeat presence on our air.”

What do you think? Are you happy that you’ll be able to continue to be able to watch the two seasons of Nate Berkus on OWN?
I am very upset that Rachael Ray & The Nate Show has been taken off the air in Houston, Texas. They ended up being the two shows I would actually sit down, and watch through the days. I DO NO HAVE CABLE, SATELLITE, DISH, or any other form of “cable.” I feel like moving these shows to the OWN network, is discrimination!!!!! If I could AFFORD it, I would buy it! Why do I have to lose my shows, just because I can’t afford what the rest of the people in the U.S. have!!!!!
I too would like to see Oprah produce new shows for Nate. I won’t watch the reruns. Nor will I watch the reruns of Rachel Ray. (She still has new shows). Sad sad sad.
I was very disappointed that the Nate Berkus Show was cancelled. I am glad to learn that the OWN network will show the reruns but I have already seen these shows.
Please, Ms Oprah, give Nate a brand new contract. A brand new season!
Just think of all the new viewers you will gain to see a new season of the Nate Berkus Show! Nate brought so many other talented people to his show! This is just a shame.
I have watched the Nate Burkus Show since his very first show. I was so impressed when he was introduced by Oprah. This show was right up my alley. In fact I was just getting up the nerve to take pictures of my home and send them in to him for some really needed revamping. I am sooo disappointed. I do not see why Oprah, whose show OWN has been faltering some, could not sign him up for a new contract. Just say a year, to see how it goes. I would much prefer to see new shows than re-runs.… Read more »
I turned to see the new season of Nate and I could not fine it. I was so surprised to find out that it had been cancelled. I think Oprah should produce new shows of Nate on her station. It would be a great opportunity to improve ratings. Nate is spectacular and has provided me with tons of ideas for refurbishing and decorating. Please bring Nate back.

I watched the Nate Burkus show everyday or DVR’d it.
Nate understands that people love “wow” effects in design but get really inspired to refurbish used furniture and in that way can be creative too.
I miss the Nate Burkus Show. I miss Nate with his kind and pleasant personality.
Please consider to produce new shows!!!

I changed the channel this morning as usual to the Nate Burkus show and could not find it. i had no idea that it was cancelled, I watch it every morning as well as my firefighter husband. I called him the other morning when he was on duty and he told me they had it on at the firehouse as well. So sorry to hear this, he had a great show, I’ve been a big fan of his from back on the Oprah show, his personality is warm and I love all his ideas and thoroughly enjoyed the show. I… Read more »

I am also shocked that Nate’s show was cancelled. I agree that Oprah should produce more that just re-runs for Nate and have some fresh new episodes on OWN!
I’m in shock that Nate’s Show was cancelled. I will miss all the interesting shows he had and his wonderful personality. Does anyone care what we think?
I can not believe the Nate Berkus show was cancelled. What is with these people, i watch him daily. I would arrange my day so I could watch him. Oprah
need to pick up more then just the reruns. I really enjoyed his show. My days will not be the same!!!!!
I am like everyone else, I really looked forward to Nate’s show every day including the re-runs. PLEASE BRING NATE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watch a very few show on TV. Nat Berkus was one I did watch. With him off the air, I probably won’t even turn the TV on. This is a great loss.
I cannot believe that Nate’s was taken off the ABC station I watch daily!
Oprah, please produce more shows for Nate and not just show his re-runs!
