When The Nate Berkus Show was cancelled earlier this year, some thought that Berkus’ old friend Oprah Winfrey should bring his TV series over to the OWN channel. Well, that’s exactly what’s happened.
Unfortunately, OWN has merely picked up the existing two seasons of Nate Berkus and won’t be producing any new installments. Though local stations can continue to air the Berkus show until September 7th, many have already pulled it off the air.
OWN has also purchased the rights to show the first five seasons of Rachael Ray, a series that continues to run in daytime.
Here’s the press release:
OWN: OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK ACQUIRES EXCLUSIVE CABLE RIGHTS TO “RACHAEL RAY” AND “THE NATE BERKUS SHOW”
Series To Air Back-to-Back Weekdays Beginning Monday, September 10
Los Angeles, CA – OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has acquired the exclusive cable rights to “Rachael Ray” from CBS Television Distribution and “The Nate Berkus Show” from Harpo Studios. Two episodes of each show will air back-to-back weekdays beginning Monday, September 10 with “Rachael Ray” from 9 – 11 a.m. ET/PT and “Nate Berkus” from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET/PT.
OWN will air many of the most memorable episodes of “Rachael Ray” from its first five seasons and from seasons one and two of “Nate Berkus.”
“Rachael and Nate are a natural fit for OWN’s expanding daytime programming lineup,” said Erik Logan, president, OWN. “It will be great to have Rachael’s energy and Nate’s upbeat presence on our air.”

What do you think? Are you happy that you’ll be able to continue to be able to watch the two seasons of Nate Berkus on OWN?
I am so disappointed to learn that Nate gas been cancelled. My favorite show on TV and I looked forward to watching it every day. I believe the show’s format should have stayed the same as when it started. Toward the end there was too much cooking and too much fashion on the show. Nate is a design/decorator, so very good at what he does and should have stuck with what he does best. I have learned so much from watching his show. SOMEONE SHOULD TAKE NOTICE AND PUT HIS SHOW BACK ON TV. STAY AT HOMES LOVE HIM, BUT… Read more »

I used to pvr the Nate Berkus show and couldn’t wait to get home and watch it after work. I even got my daughter hooked on it and Nate and we were planning a mother/daughter trip to see a show since she is expecting her first child and my first grandchild. This was going to be a special trip. NOW what – no Nate….terrible. Please tell me that there is going to be 2 DVDs that I can purchase to help decorate my grandchilds room.
CANADA MISSES YOU NATE!
I hate that the Nat Show was cancelled!!!! I would tevo it a watch it at a later time. While I kinda like the RR Show and watch it from time to time, I don’t understand all the hipe, awards etc? The show is just OK, I enjoy it when I watch it but I don’t make an effort to watch it and will watch something else if I find anything else. I do really enjoy her cooking shows. The Nat Show should have been a keeper!!
I was so happy when Nate had his own show and I would watch it every day on our local channel – NBC and now the new shows coming on I couldn’t find Nate. They have Right this minute on twice during the afternoon and American Now also twice. It’s sad when you have to watch the same old show twice and can’t find Nate anywhere. Now Nate is on your network….and I’m not even sure if I can get your show. This was a waste for early morning not having Nate start my day. He’s so cute and uplifting… Read more »
Nate’s show won’t be reruns for me. No network carried it here in Memphis … So I’m glad to have it on own. Now, if only I could watch Anderson Cooper Daytime show somewhere. Just found out Memphis dropped the 2012 – 2013 season of Rachael Ray – what a bummer. But they still carry 3 HOURS of local news every day – 4 pm til 6:30….
I am soooooo sad to learn today that Nate will no longer be making his shows for us . I love Nate and his show was the only one I looked forward to in the afternoon. I would always run my errands in the mornings and if I ran errands in the afternoon, I always had my schedule all worked out, to be HOME in time to watch Nate! Sad sad sad with his show being canceled. Please bring him back to TV land!!!! I love you Nate and will miss you so much. You taught us all so much… Read more »
