When The Nate Berkus Show was cancelled earlier this year, some thought that Berkus’ old friend Oprah Winfrey should bring his TV series over to the OWN channel. Well, that’s exactly what’s happened.
Unfortunately, OWN has merely picked up the existing two seasons of Nate Berkus and won’t be producing any new installments. Though local stations can continue to air the Berkus show until September 7th, many have already pulled it off the air.
OWN has also purchased the rights to show the first five seasons of Rachael Ray, a series that continues to run in daytime.
Here’s the press release:
OWN: OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK ACQUIRES EXCLUSIVE CABLE RIGHTS TO “RACHAEL RAY” AND “THE NATE BERKUS SHOW”

Los Angeles, CA – OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has acquired the exclusive cable rights to “Rachael Ray” from CBS Television Distribution and “The Nate Berkus Show” from Harpo Studios. OWN will air many of the most memorable episodes of “Rachael Ray” from its first five seasons and from seasons one and two of “Nate Berkus.”
“Rachael and Nate are a natural fit for OWN’s expanding daytime programming lineup,” said Erik Logan, president, OWN. “It will be great to have Rachael’s energy and Nate’s upbeat presence on our air.”

What do you think? Are you happy that you’ll be able to continue to be able to watch the two seasons of Nate Berkus on OWN?
Bring Nate back please won’t look at repeat shows
I miss Nate! I don`t get Own, and I`d love to see new nate shows.bring him back!!!
Please bring Nate back!!! Can’t believe they took a show off the air that showed people how to save money, re-purpose, cook, decorate, new styles, great new products…..everything we need to know in these tough economic times. His show was so refreshing to watch. There are WAY too many talk shows with the same repeated topics. We need more new Nate shows, not reruns………
I have been looking everywhere for the Nate Berkus show. I will not be happy with reruns. I want to see the real thing with all of Nate’s great ideas. Who are the networks listening to? Obviously, not the people who watch TV. I also agree, enough with the talk shows. Jeff Probst should stick to survivor!!!
I also left town for 3 weeks and came home, tuned in to OWN at 11:00 and there was NO Nate Burkus Show. I stopped my day to watch his show and us his ideas. Is there any way you can bring him back? P L E A S E Oprah!
I was so enjoying being able to see all the Nate reruns from 11:00 to 1:00 each day on OWN. I had to leave town for a while, and alas and alack, when I returned and could not find Nate at 11:00, I discovered that in my area, OWN was now showing him at 6:00 a.m.! Whose bright idea is THIS? The best show on OWN, better than Oprah herself, and they move it to 6:00 a.m.?? Shows how much “they” care about the viewing public!
Miss you Nate on chanel 10. I dont have OWN. Will miss Nate.
I am soooo disapointed that Nate Berkus will no longer be doing his show I have seen and loooved EVERY episode… I know this sounds crazy but I feel like I lost a friend. I dvr’ed it everyday….Please Bring Nate back ;(
oprah,…………are u lestening? my friends and i tape nate every day that’s on..and we really utilize his design ideas. i went an got dish for u and nate only……please his ideas are great.my groups ages range fom60 to sixty five and we do have the ability to carry out his dsign tips…..he is compassionate and real not often seen on talk shows, he also shows you how when and where that’s best for anyones budget…be a pal and give him another two seasons, please please please we are the same people who followed you from conception all these years…..thanks for… Read more »
Bring Nate back on TV It was one of only good informitve shows on I really miss it!!!!
Good Lord, Nate will be missed. I’m getting real close to giving up on TV. With losses like this it’s time we all got rid of the tube anyway and get on with living. Thanks Nate and good luck in all you do.
I love the Nate Berkus show and wish there would be new episodes, rather than repeats.
My personel opinion is that the first year was terrific; the second not so great, which is why I think it was cancelled. I think the co-host idea was wonderful, but there was too much chatter (I can see that on Ellen) and too much cooking (I can see that on the Food Channel). Bring him back with more DIY ideas, decorating tips, high/low items, blogs, new products, styling on a budget, etc.
ABSOLUTELY AGREE!
Very happy to see Nate on OWN. Nplease produce more of his really great shows.. He is so much better than the copy cat talk shows and silly reality shows.
Someone REALLY dropped the ball on this one! I watched Nate everyday and loved it. Oprah…if your listening, this show is a sure thing. We need what Nate has!
I can’t believe the Nate Berkus show was cancelled. I LOVE his show! Now all that is on TV are talk shows. Very boring so I don’t watch any of them. PLEASE reconsider putting this fanotastic show back on the air with all NEW episodes. I have nothing to watch now 🙁
