There was some uproar about ABC’s new family comedy, The Real O’Neals, months before the TV show even premiered. Could this controversy end up helping the series attract big ratings or will it keep people away? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
A single-camera sitcom, The Real O’Neals revolves around an Irish Catholic family that seems to be living an idyllic life. After the middle son comes out of the closet, the rest of the family members come clean with their own secrets and start to live their lives more authentically. The show stars Martha Plimpton, Jay R. Ferguson, Noah Galvin, Mathew Shively, Bebe Wood, and Mary Hollis Inboden.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

What do you think? Do you like The Real O’Neals TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for second season?
One camera is boring, does nothing for tired scripts. It should end and be forgotten. Bringing it back just to be canceled after 4 episodes would be better for no one. Let the actors go now so that they can find new work.
Greg is probably in the closet that’s why this show upsets him so much.
I thought all of the actors were very good accept the Mom on The Real O’neils. She is over acting and trying too hard. I have nothing against gay people but I did not think it was cool when the siblings were trying to help their brother find gay porn. The youngest son was a great actor and did a fantastic job as did the Dad. I think the writing needs to be a little more PG.
This is a well done show ,so funny . I look forward to it everyweek .The message ofthe show is well needed nowadays ,wemaynot tottally agree with eachother but we learn to accept the ones we love , at least we should .
Hey Greg! The show is officially renew for a second season!!! Are you happy as I am? YAAAY!!! 😀
I can’t help but notice a lot of these comments are complaining about how the show is “hateful” and “offensive”, but they aren’t giving any specific reasons why it’s so offensive. What’s so bad about it? Nowadays everybody and everything gets made fun of; learn to take a joke and stop being over-sensitive
Yes it should be renewed!! Best comedy on TV.
