ABC Family has decided to cancel their long-running TV series, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, after five seasons on the air. While there won’t be a sixth season, there’s still more to come.
Created by Brenda Hampton, Secret Life revolves around the relationships between families and friends and how they deal with unexpected pregnancies. Castmembers include Shailene Woodley, Kenny Baumann, Francia Raisa, Daren Kagasoff, Greg Finley, Megan Park, India Eisley, Molly Ringwald, Mark Derwin, Michael Grant, and Cierra Ramirez.
Debuting in 2008, Secret Life became ABC Family’s first hit scripted series and paved the way for future successes like Pretty Little Liars.

The ratings have come down over the years. To date, the fifth season has averaged a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demgraphic with 1.38 million viewers. Still, it remains one of ABC Family’s highest-rated series.
While the show is ending, there are still 13 installments to come. A holiday episode is slated for November 19th and the dozen final installments will start airing next March. By the end, there will be 121 episodes of Secret Life.
Hampton called the series regulars to break the news. It’s unknown if the final episode will give the show some closure, end on a cliffhanger, or simply be open-ended.

I really think the Secret Life Of American Teenager shouldn’t have been taken of the air. It had so many hits people loved it. I enjoyed it and I didn’t like the way season 5 ended we should of at least got to see how Amy and Ricky turned out. I would really like to see it air again I would really like a season 6.

I really think it should come back. I recently finished binge watching on Netflix and it would be so interesting to see where they are in their lives now. With relationships, families, pregnancies and so on
i think that the show should have still went on and ended as when Amy came back from 4 years of college and Ricky and Amy are together and married like what was suppose to happen in season 5.

Another show I really miss. Now that it has been off air for a couple years, writers should consider bringing it back. The kids are older now and they could add younger ones to keep the younger kids interested. I really want to see what happens to Amy and Ricky. Even a movie or something would be nice. Just to catch up on how the families are. This show was such a huge hit, I am not sure why they would have cancelled it to begin with!! My oldest daughter and I still talk about this one.

I think that the show should end where Amy comes back from college to marry Ricky.
I think secret life shouldn’t be cancelled because it’s a very good show and the ending of the last last one really didn’t show much you should add more series to it! Make it a better show it’s great but it would be better to it if you showed more. I love this show it always made me realize how hard it is to be a parent and to be careful when you go out and do things.
You can not end it , and just cancel it ! Come on , this show teaches many young girls and guys on what they may go through in highschool & makes them realize so much . After I finished the last episode, I did look up if there was any chance there was more coming up . You need to continue this . I think They should make another season where Amy and ricky still end up together and raise their son. I hate the fact Ben trys still to be with Amy when Amy is in love with ricky I think she would still marry ricky in the end. They do make a cute couple.
