MTV has released the official promo, and the official opening title sequence, for its new fantasy genre TV series, The Shannara Chronicles. The Shannara Chronicles — based on Terry Brooks’ post-apocalyptic book series — premieres January 5, 2016 at 10:00pm ET/PT.
Starring Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Emilia Burns, Austin Butler, Poppy Drayton, Aaron Jakubenko, and John Rhys-Davies, The Shannara Chronicles is set millennia in the future. The series follows Elf-Human Wil (Butler); Elvin Princess, Amberle (Drayton); and human member of the Rover clan, Eretria (Baquero), on their quest to save the world from a demonic army.
The Shannara Chronicles is executive produced by Jon Favreau, of the cancelled TV series, Revolution, Al Gough, Miles Millar, Dan Farah, Jonathan Liebesman, and the series author — Brooks.
