The CW is starting over on Monday nights. They’ve cancelled both Star-Crossed and The Tomorrow People after one season apiece.
On The Tomorrow People, a teenager (Robbie Amell) discovers that he has paranormal abilities. He also learns that others like him have gone into hiding because they’re being hunted by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra. The rest of the cast includes Luke Mitchell, Peyton List, Aaron Yoo, Mark Pellegrino, and Madeleine Mantock.
The drama debuted back in October and aired on Wednesday nights, paired with the network’s popular Arrow series. It performed well in the beginning but the ratings fell over the course of the season, dropping as low as a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.24 million viewers.
The series moved to Monday nights and lost even more viewers. In last April, The Tomorrow People hit a series low, drawing just 760,000 viewers.
The season (now series) finale, which aired this week, left plenty of story opportunities for a second season but it won’t be happening.
What do you think? Are you sorry that there won’t be a second season of The Tomorrow People? Do you think it should have been cancelled?

What’s the ******* point making 1 season like the tommorow people or star crossed then cancelling it?
I’ve just found this series (3 days ago) and I watched all the 22 parts. (The commercial has been shown on TV for a few weeks in my country.) I can’t imagine why the second season was cancelled. I’m totally upset and confused… This is the ONLY show I’ve watched along part after part without a break. I love the basic story, the fight scenes and the visual effect of teleportation. Characters are amazing and we’re getting known them continuously – I really liked that I never could tell who was the bad guy, who told the truth, what was… Read more »
it’s a pity yet another show is canceled. it’s hard nowadays to find a good tv show to wath witch have intersting plot and talented actors.. movies are good but tv shows last longer and it’s a fun way to pass a night home.. just give some time to grow acustom to watchers and drow interest is’a a shame to cut so early the show especialy when you give something to wait for a new season to the very last episode of the first season.. at least if you are going to cansel it give an conclution guys so we… Read more »
My hubby and I are totally devastated that this show is cancelled. We watched all the firsst season in 5 days – loved it and couldn’t get enough! The finale left it open for some great storylines for season 2.
I think the show should have a second season, even if it’s just to tie up the loose ends. It’s the only show I found in a very long time that actually really drew me in and had me dying to see the next episode. I do feel that the season finale did seem a bit rushed. But if they did allow a second season maybe the ratings would rise and more people would come into it. It’s very hard to find a TV show with real twists that you can’t see coming a mile off. Very disappointed that the… Read more »
Another great show cancelled before given time. The CW made another huge mistake canceling the tommorow people. I just learned of it and watched the entire season in 3 days. They think people just miraculously learn about a new show and start watching it in one season. People have lives there are endless new shows and it takes time to build a following now in days. If someone discovers a show mid season and likes it you wont see them as viewers in that season they will wait to see the first half of the season first and then wait… Read more »
Omg I can’t believe this show as been cancelled I love it me and my husband love watching it good cast and the story to it is good such a shame please rethink
I’m glad The Tomorrow People was cancelled…it was not very good. In typical Amercian fashion, they took a great classic TV show about people of different ages and races discovering and learning to control extraordinary abilities and white washed it. And by white washed I mean they gave the show the A &F treatment (Abercrombie & Fitch). They made 98% of the core cast young, white and pretty actors with limited acting abilities…save for the Minority cast member and a couple of older cast members. In the case of The Tomorrow People this would be the Asian guy (Russell…?) and… Read more »
2 more shows that we invested our time in cancelled. It would be nice if the CW gave them a second season. This would allow time for other people to watch and bring up their ratings….I mean give them a shot!
This series is one of the best syfy’s i’ve seen. Great plot, actors, and themes…
Excellent on screen effects, and story..with great twist….
At least give season 2 a go…
So I am done watching US shows when aired. I am not going to commit to watching programs until they have several years under their belt and I can watch on netflix. It’s one thing when you get a darn CONCLUSION, but I’m now left with cliffhangers on ‘revolution’, ‘star-crossed’ and ‘the tomorrow people’ (not to mention ‘Jericho’). Don’t these broadcast American jokers understand the basics? At least with a show based on a UK program like ‘almost human’ you get a bloody CONCLUSION. So I am done unless we start getting some commitment to not be left hanging.
It is about time we stop buying American shows here in the UK the series ends on a cliffhanger and the Americans decide to cancel it that doesn’t happen with our shows. Offcom here will take up your complaint email them stop getting these shows the Americans just decide to cancel mid story
Im devastated at theres no second series what was tge point of drawing us in for a series to not make a second …….
Completely utterly gutted…It should not have been cancelled, despite the amount of viewers, it completely disappointed us fans!
The CW should give The Tomorrow People another chance as it has been interesting to watch. Ratings have been dropped in America…but here in the UK it has been popular, lots of people have been talking about it. Why CW? Why!??????
Come on, give them another chance!!!!
I am gutted The Tomorrow People has been cancelled, its one of the few shows that me and my 14 year old son watch (and enjoy) together. Please please reconsider or can any other network pick up the series because its very unfair to just end a series. I’m sure a million viewers is a drop in the ocean to a tv channel but that’s a million very unhappy viewers plus more of us in the UK!!
