The CW is starting over on Monday nights. They’ve cancelled both Star-Crossed and The Tomorrow People after one season apiece.
On The Tomorrow People, a teenager (Robbie Amell) discovers that he has paranormal abilities. He also learns that others like him have gone into hiding because they’re being hunted by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra. The rest of the cast includes Luke Mitchell, Peyton List, Aaron Yoo, Mark Pellegrino, and Madeleine Mantock.
The drama debuted back in October and aired on Wednesday nights, paired with the network’s popular Arrow series. It performed well in the beginning but the ratings fell over the course of the season, dropping as low as a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.24 million viewers.
The series moved to Monday nights and lost even more viewers. In last April, The Tomorrow People hit a series low, drawing just 760,000 viewers.
The season (now series) finale, which aired this week, left plenty of story opportunities for a second season but it won’t be happening.

Nooooo!!! Why would they cancel The Tomorrow People?! I loved that show! Really the only show I watched! Better on Wednesdays.Mon was harder to tune in but I always recorded it. Theycould’ve at least let us know by giving us an ending!Uggh…
I am sooooooooo sad that they are cancelling The Tomorrow People! That was one of my favorites! 🙁 I am almost at tears, so much is unanswered and they could have taken this show so far!!!

CW has now cancelled 2 good. Shows-Star Crossed and Tomorrow People. TSK, TSK Huge mistake on both of those shows, I agree with others about NOT watching CW.

Another show I enjoyed watching bits the the dust. This is becoming quite annoying to stay loyal to a show for it to get the ax in the end. I can fully understand a network needs to earn money on every show they do. In order to make money they need viewers. Within min of a show airing the numbers come in and the math can be done. I can’t believe it! I thought it was a really good show. It started off weak but got better and better in my opinion and I know, the ratings will be better than expected if they would just put a little more faith in it. If they’re smart they will bring it back.
Networks which produce series without a proper wind-up should be prosecuted for fraud. Any story can be given a reasonable ending over 2-3 episodes and some alternatives and necessary budgeting should be a requirement in the original production contract.
The CW has made a huge mistake canceling the Tomorrow People and Star Crossed and I am going to start a petition to renew these two T.V. shows or for another Station to pick them up. They might have not had that many viewers the day it showed but you got to think not all people have the time to watch their favorite tv shows because of work or school or whatever in the hell they got to do. I’m so sad that this show got cancelled it was one oft favorite shows (I even set a reminder for it every Monday) I wish there could be a season 2 and get picked up by another production studio.
This was one of the best shows on cw. As is Star Crossed. Very dissappointed in the cw station. All the good shows always get cancelled. This really stinks. Time to stop watching cw not the first time youve done this.
I loved that show. I’m in Australia and I knew heaps of people who watched it. Very disappointed.
