ABC has renewed The View TV series for a 20th season. Effectively immediately, Candi Carter has been named Executive Producer of the daytime talk show (pictured below). The View is led by moderator Whoopi Goldberg, with co-hosts Joy Behar, Candace Cameron Bure, Michelle Collins, Paula Faris, and Raven-Symoné.
“It’s an honor to be part of the extraordinary legacy built by Barbara Walters, the exceptional, funny and smart women at the table led by Whoopi Goldberg, and a terrific team behind the scenes,” said Carter. “Every day is a thrill.”
THE VIEW – (2.23.16) ABC has renewed “The View” for an epic 20th season, and Candi Carter was officially named its executive producer, effective immediately. “The View” airs Monday-Friday (11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Candi Carter Named Executive Producer of “The View”
ABC has renewed “The View” for an epic 20th season, and Candi Carter was officially named executive producer of “The View,” effective immediately.
“This season ‘The View’ has once again been at the very heart of the political conversation and cultural conversation in America,” said James Goldston, president, ABC News. “Candi and the team have worked tirelessly to make ‘The View’ the place to be heard for an impressive roster of celebrities, politicians and people in the news.”
Carter joined the show last August, serving as the interim showrunner. She has extensive television credits with over two decades of experience, best known for her work as a senior/supervising producer at “The Oprah Winfrey Show” for over 15 years. She’s overseen a wide range of programming, from big events and musical performances to fashion and talent shows and surprise reunions. Carter executive-produced breaking news programs, specials and live town halls, including a Hurricane Katrina anniversary special, for BET.

Under the leadership of Carter, executive consultant Hilary Estey McLoughlin and co-executive producer Brian Teta, “The View” has kicked off 2016 with its highest ratings in almost a year. In the most recent ratings available (the week of February 8, 2016), “The View” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.974 million) for the 2nd week in a row, more than tripling its lead over “The Talk” week to week (+268% -70,000 vs. 19,000 for w/o 2/1/16). In addition, “The View” (433,000) beat “The Talk” (423,000) in Women 18-49 (+8,000) for the 4th time in the last 6 weeks. “The View” has out-delivered its November Sweep performance across the board in all 6 weeks of 2016.

The view has lost it’s entertaining quality. It used to be a show where you can observe different points of view but now it’s depressing and only of one point of view. Quite depressing that such grown women could behave like the people that they make fun of. The show has lost it’s charm. Not funny anymore. Too Bad.
Show has lost any entertainment factor. The constant negativity just never ends. Very aggressive against Trump. Never anything fun or enjoyable or anything positive regarding the future Trump administration. So if the goal of the show is negative Trump propaganda I might as well watch another real news program.
Hate the View, too negative, anti American, too political & not fun to watch! Guess they’ll all be leaving the country now that Trump won! I NEVER watch this show!
I used to like watching the view, but know all they talk about is politics, or Trump If I want to watch a news program I will turn on the news, and if they have someone on that does not agree with then they get nasty, and they tell the audience who to agree with and when to clap, I don’t watch the show that much I just turn it on to see who is on and when no one is on I turn the channel because who wants to hear about Trump constantly, the show is one of the… Read more »

Please, get rid of this show. It is biased to the point of disgusting. Joy, Raven, and Whoopi are beyond respectful of so many people and problems this country is facing. They never really have their facts correct/ Just a bunch of manure being hustled.
I used to watch the show.but this year it is discussing. Joy and Whoopi should keep their opinions to themselves about the election. Meaning Donald Trump.

I used to watch every day and was glad when Barbara left. Used to love Whoopi, but not so much anymore. Glad that Joy is back – it was stupid to let her leave. The cross chatter is so out of hand now that I don’t watch unless there is a guest I really want to see. Surprised it is not going off the air.
