Following the ratings success of The Voice, NBC is trying yet another singing competition — The Winner Is. Hosted by Nick Lachey, the series will run for nine episodes this summer. Will it do well enough to be renewed for another season or, will it be cancelled instead? We’ll have to wait and see.

Final season averages: 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.70 million total viewers.
Episode 01-07: Thursday, 08/08/13 (finale)
0.9 in the demo (-10% change) with 3.83 million (-11% change).
Season averages: 1.21 in the demo with 4.70 million.

1.0 in the demo (+11% change) with 4.29 million (+12% change).
Season averages: 1.27 in the demo with 4.85 million.

0.9 in the demo (0% change) with 3.84 million (-3% change).
Season averages: 1.32 in the demo with 4.96 million.

For the summer season, this wasn’t a bad start. However, considering the strong lead-in from The Voice, the new singing competition should have done better.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
