Ratings-challenged Those Who Kill is coming back to television — but it’s not returning to A&E. While the show hasn’t been cancelled, the move isn’t exactly a sign of confidence from the cable channel.
The show revolves around a homicide detective (Chloe Sevigny) and an academic forensic psychologist (James D’Arcy) who work to solve crimes in Pittsburgh. Others in the cast include James Morrison, Omid Abtahi, Kerry O’Malley, Bruce Davison, Kathy Baker, Michael Rispoli, and Anne Dudek.
A&E pulled Those Who Kill from the schedule after two episodes had aired to low ratings. The premiere attracted 3.07 million but the second installment plunged to just 830,000.
On the show’s Facebook page, it was quietly announced that the Chloe Sevigny series will return this Sunday on LMN TV (Lifetime Movie Network). LMN is a sister network to A&E.
The first two episodes will rerun starting at 8pm. Then, new episodes will air starting at 10pm. There are 10 episodes in the season.
While it’s nice that the remaining episodes will air, it’s unlikely that most fans will know they’re being shown. Many cable subscribers may not even know if they have LMN TV. The ratings will surely be terrible.
This move by A&E feels like they’re just burning off the remaining episodes, a sign that the show has essentially been cancelled already.
What do you think? Do you plan on watching the remaining episodes of Those Who Kill? Do you think the show will be cancelled or, is there a chance it could see a second season?
My wife and I like the show and will be watching for it. It’s a shame networks bale on a new show so quickly without allowing it to pick up a viewership.
They did not give this show a chance…..I think it is a great show so far and just because it did not get as many viewers as Bates Motel was no reason to cancel…..Should of gave it a chance….It is a hell of lot better than most of these reality shows that we get charged to watch from cable.
I really hate when The networks do such underhanded things. They only showed one episode and then GONE. I do not have LMN on my Optimum cable. So Now What A&E? I did have LMN about 2 months ago, when I had Verizon cable. You should really be ashamed of yourselves-you did not even give this show a half chance.
so sad to hear that A & E did not even give this wonderful show a chance…….I loved watching the show……it was different, edgy, dark, suspenseful, entertaining….what more could u ask for !! I will watch it on LMN but it does seem as though it will end up being canceled……………shame on A & E…………this was an artistic great show with lots of depth & great characters that I couldn’t wait to find out more about…………….and I agree with the poster amy…….I miss the glades………..awful way to end the show………..I think A&E should have at least given that show a… Read more »
I wish another network would revive A&E’s The Glades. We were left with one of the WORST cliffhangers ever, and then it was cancelled. UGH!
I sure will be watching! Really enjoyed this show. Don’t think A&E gave it a chance. Glad that I can see the remaining 8 episodes. Sounds like the show won’t be renewed. Sorry to hear this news. Thanks for letting me know when the remining episodes will be televised.
I thought it was a really good show/ especially compared to some of the junk the major networks are showing: IE 2 broke girls, new girl, resurrection, mentalist, moms, dads etc. They should wake up
YES I will watch! Due to too much good tv, I set up the series to tape. Just watched the first 2 episodes last night. Wondered why no more had been shown. Some viewers may find it dark viewing, but my husband and I find it fascinating. Big Chloe Sevigny fans! Some of the best programs have extremely flawed main characters, which is precisely what I love about TWK. We DO get LMN (Lifetime Movie Network); I ran to check as soon as I read this. THANKS for the heads up! Should I start a write-in campaign already?
Yes
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I am glad it is going to be on LMN. Hope it gets renewed!!!
Those Who Kill: I liked it and don’t thing they gave it enough of a chance and/or put up against really big shows! I intend to watch the balance of the episodes.
I couldn’t even figure out when I was on A&E, I think that’s why did the second one got such low ratings, ny has really done a disservice just the show those who kill which is a great drama on a terrible Network, Amy put it back on your station show some promos start with the first show again, finally a great drama comes on and you cancel it after two episodes I have no faith in A&E,I wish it was on AMC because they know how to they know how to put a show out there tell you when its… Read more »
Sorry about all the typos,I have no idea what happened,I meant to say I never knew when Those Who Kill was even on A&E, basically the rest was how much A&E sucks for pulling the after two episodes.
I think that while A&E has a couple (Duck Dynasty & Bates Motel) of front running shows, they shouldn’t cut off shows without giving their audience a chance to let them grow. By no means are they in the same league as AMC, but they seem to think so by following AMC’s move in cancelling a similar moody drama, The Killing. I think the move and cancelling of both dramas was a mistake and poorly replaced, but what do I know? I’m just a picky critic that knows what’s t.v. garbage and what’s not.
YES
i will be watching! thanks for letting us know where to watch!
