Ratings-challenged Those Who Kill is coming back to television — but it’s not returning to A&E. While the show hasn’t been cancelled, the move isn’t exactly a sign of confidence from the cable channel.
The show revolves around a homicide detective (Chloe Sevigny) and an academic forensic psychologist (James D’Arcy) who work to solve crimes in Pittsburgh. Others in the cast include James Morrison, Omid Abtahi, Kerry O’Malley, Bruce Davison, Kathy Baker, Michael Rispoli, and Anne Dudek.
A&E pulled Those Who Kill from the schedule after two episodes had aired to low ratings. The premiere attracted 3.07 million but the second installment plunged to just 830,000.
On the show’s Facebook page, it was quietly announced that the Chloe Sevigny series will return this Sunday on LMN TV (Lifetime Movie Network). LMN is a sister network to A&E.
The first two episodes will rerun starting at 8pm. Then, new episodes will air starting at 10pm. There are 10 episodes in the season.
While it’s nice that the remaining episodes will air, it’s unlikely that most fans will know they’re being shown. Many cable subscribers may not even know if they have LMN TV. The ratings will surely be terrible.
This move by A&E feels like they’re just burning off the remaining episodes, a sign that the show has essentially been cancelled already.
What do you think? Do you plan on watching the remaining episodes of Those Who Kill? Do you think the show will be cancelled or, is there a chance it could see a second season?
I Love this show !!!!! PLEASE do not take it off.
LOVE CHLOE S. The show is unique and intriguing and should be given a chance to let the characters develop. Cannot understand why it is not be given a chance.Great actors, A&E BIG mistake to let this show go!!!!!
I have searched and searched for Those Who Kill since the 2 episodes I watched and really enjoyed! Looks like it may be on Lifetime Movie Network which I have already set up to record the series…hope they will at least show those! With all the reality trash that some networks carry for years,I just do not understand why this show is a problem!
Why doesn’t A&E make some type of announcement! It took me forever to find the show being shown on LMN…
it also took me time 2 find out it had moved 2 lmn
I accidentally – and happily! – discovered that the show had been moved. It’s sad that it will likely not live after LMN.
I enjoyed the show quite a bit so am glad it will be back on. I thought it was a great addiction to Mondays on A&E along with Bates Motel. It sometimes takes a while for a new show to gain momentum. Many programs get yanked off the air so quickly that people nowadays are reluctant to get involved watching a new series. I like both Chloe and James, and I hope the show does well enough to come back for another season.
I was hooked from the first episode! Put it on my DVR for the season… Then couldn’t find it?? I hope it’s NOT cancelled!!
Great series. Hopefully it won’t be canceled.
I watched the 2 A&E episodes. It’s trying too hard to be edgy and sexy but the dialogue is laughable and cliche. Chloe S. is better than this & so are most of the other players so I hope it gets bad ratings so they can all move on & work on projects worthy of their talents.
BAD MOVE! A great show with the amazing Chloe Sevigny – engrossing, dares to push boundaries – unique, thought provoking …. poorly promoted – what a shame – could be a great hit if management bothered to market it …
It’s a great, unique, thoroughly involving show with fascinating personalities and terrific actors – led by the amazing Chloe Sevigny. It needs to be marketed properly…and the move to Lifetime needs to be prhould be clearly sto Market it bettes to ber than was don a um
This is a terrible decision! What this series needs is publicity, not a new network! It is hands above better than The Bridge, which got picked up for a second season. I loved this show, but had a tough time even finding it. How can a show succeed without proper publicity. It honestly feels like A & E wanted it to fail from the start. It is dark, brooding, sexy, creepy, sadistic. What else could you want in a crime drama series. I hope it becomes a sleeper hit and leaves A & E backtracking to put it back on… Read more »
I am very happy LMN is airing the remaining episodes of Those Who Kill, hope word of mouth will let all the disappointed fans know its on tonite. I loved the show one of the best new series ina long time…..Kudos to LMN
I hate that this show was or is going to be canceled. Give the show a chance!!!
Glad to hear it will be on again, good show!!!!!
