Would the life of police officer Allison McLean get a little less hectic in season two of the Ties The Bind TV show? We’ll never know. UP has cancelled the drama after one season of 10 episodes.
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, played by Kelli Williams. Like most working women, Allison McLean’s hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis). She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. The rest of the cast includes Matreya Scarrwener, Rhys Matthew Bond, Lucia Walters, and Aaron Craven.
The series debuted in August 2015 and the 10 episodes finished airing in October. The cable channel was apparently considering ordering a second season but earlier this year, they decided not to do so. A message on the show’s Facebook page notes:
After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this cop drama? Should it have been cancelled? Would you have watched a second season of Ties That Bind on UP?

I was very disappointed to get through season one and find out the show was cancelled. I enjoyed the series very much. Is there anything we can do to bring it back and save Cameron?
I don’t watch TV at all but I watched all of season 1 of Ties That Bind and was looking for Season 2 but was very disappointed when I found out that it was cancelled. Not very happy at all. Cant find good shows anymore then when you do they take it off.

Very disappointed! Was looking forward to season 2. Why is it all the good shows get cancelled!?
I could not believe we were left hanging – and no season 2. It was a great program.
I loved this program but half way through the season I lost the channel. I watched all the episodes this weekend as I have been looking for then. So disappointed you did not have another season or at least one more episode to have closure. So sad!! It was a great program
i definitely would have continued watching Ties That Bind. It was such a powerful show and had great stories. Kept me entertained.
Would love for them to resume this series!
It is a shame that a family show that is clean and has action would be cancelled. My family watched this on pure flix and loved it. this is what its wrong with the world, not being able to watch something and not have to worry about your young kids…. Such a SHAME!!!!!
I just found this show recently and started to watch it knowing it was cancelled and expected to be disappointed having no ending. I just didn’t realize how disappointed we would be As my wife and I watch what we watch, We Miss having shows witch show a high degree of family values, even though we don’t have children we still go to the parents guide in IMDB before watching a movie or TV show. Now I have a look to movieguide.com which is where I found out about this show and decided to watch it even though it was… Read more »
Me and family real enjoy this show and would love to see more seasons hate they canceled tie that bind please give us more seasons
I found the characters in “Ties That Bind” compelling, and I would have liked to have seen further seasons, but truthfully, it had been so long since season one first aired, I assumed it had been cancelled.
They reran season 1 recently, which created an expectation of a season two. I think it is wrong of them to air reruns of this program, as it leaves viewers wanting more, which they have decied not to provide. I would love to know how they go about making these sorts of decisions.
