Would the life of police officer Allison McLean get a little less hectic in season two of the Ties The Bind TV show? We’ll never know. UP has cancelled the drama after one season of 10 episodes.
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, played by Kelli Williams. Like most working women, Allison McLean’s hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis). She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. The rest of the cast includes Matreya Scarrwener, Rhys Matthew Bond, Lucia Walters, and Aaron Craven.
The series debuted in August 2015 and the 10 episodes finished airing in October. The cable channel was apparently considering ordering a second season but earlier this year, they decided not to do so. A message on the show’s Facebook page notes:
After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this cop drama? Should it have been cancelled? Would you have watched a second season of Ties That Bind on UP?
Sad this ended. I’ve been watching season 1 on heart and home.
Finally our family found a good wholesome show and it gets cancelled. Please add more seasons or give us more shows like it to watch. Very disappointed.
I thought the acting was great and it was a fantastic series. Please bring a second series.
I thought it was fantastic. I loved everything about it. Great acting and definitely thought it would be back for a 2nd series.
I wish they had made more than one season, the ending just left everything so unfinished
Just found Detective McLean and binge watched it, loved it, knew it was an older series as Luke Perry passed away in 2019, but didn’t realise it was created in 2015! I think it would be great if they could even do a movie to tie up the loose ends and pick up from where the season ended?
I am finding that series that I fall in live with that get cancelled and not renewed are all Canadian, why is this?? Not good for us the viewer 🙁
I really enjoyed series 1 and was looking forward to the next series. Really, really annoyed and sad that this has been cancelled. Did they take a poll or was it just their decision to spoil their viewers enjoyment?
I’m so sad that there won’t be a season 2. This show really spoke to me. And I think it helped several families that struggle with similar issues.
This is so sad why wouldn’t they do a season 2. And why did the season just end like that of a twist of emotion and drama? I mean where did Cameron go? Will they find him or want to find him? What will happen with his mom and what will happen with his dad? There are just so many questions to be asked. It was such an amazing and good show. This was one of my favorites why would they not make more seasons.
My daughter and I would watch Tide That Bind as our mommy and me time in the evenings. We are heart broken that there is no season 2 and we are left with wanting to know: Where did Cameron go? Why did her run away? What would happen to his dad in prison? Would the mom go back to AA. Disappointing way it ended.
It was a super show. So sad there was no more seasons.
Why didn’t they do a season 2 it was a really good show I loved it the way it ended sucked especially since your not doing any more seasons why even have it on there if you weren’t gonna do anymore seasons
Wish season 2 happen…. Horrible to end it with a teenager running away.
so sad this is a one season only show…watching it now on pure flix
I love this show! And am disappointed there is not a Season 2 and more.
