TV show description:
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, Allison McLean (Kelli Williams). Like most working women, her hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis).
She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. Tim is convicted and sent to prison and this leaves his two teenagers — Cameron (Rhys Matthew Bond) and Mariah (Matreya Scarrwener) — teetering on the brink of foster care.
Having done the right thing as an officer of the law, Allison now feels compelled to do the right thing as a sister and aunt. She brings Tim’s two very unhappy teens into her home. Squeezing four teenagers under one roof proves to be an additional test of Allison’s strength and patience. It’s not easy for her husband, her children, or Tim’s kids either.
Episode #10 — Protect and Serve
Allison and Devin uncover the shocking truth at the heart of a turf war in Crestview. Allison and Matt take the entire family to visit Tim in prison. Jackie, feeling jealous of the way Cameron looks up to Allison, makes a tragic choice.
First aired: October 14, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Ties That Bind TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I can’t believe UP cancelled Ties that bind. This channel is supposed to be uplifting, but quite frankly it’s a yawn. Not to mention they took off Last Hope with Troy Dunn. Instead they keep showing hours of the same show like 7th Heaven and super nanny. Not everyone has children, and even if they do they probably don’t let them act like little monsters. Bring back Touched by an Angel and Judging Amy. They don’t have to air for hours and hours.Just give us some variety and something to look forward to.Thank you
My family and I really enjoyed this show. We looked forward to it every week. My daughter, now 18, and my son, now 12 watch very little tv and this show had some great moral lessons that led to quality family discussion. So sad it has been cancelled.
Really enjoyed this show. Taught good life lessons and family values. I have been waiting for season 2. Very dissapointed to hear that this was cancelled.
why did they cancel this show,it was a great drama and a family show. please bring it back.
I just found this show on demand. I watched all of the 1st season episodes in two days! I loved the show and just found out it was canceled! It was a great show, good plots, good acting and taught good lessons. I don’t understand why it was canceled. Ok it was canceled and then to end it on such a down side when the network that broadcast the show promotes the network shows
As uplifting was a joke! I am boycotting Up network until they bring the series back or end it on an uplifting note!
Me too. Awesome show. They always cancel the good shows!
This is terrible! A good loving family show and its cancelled?! Not sure what the network was thinking, what a shame!!!
Why? This is a good show with strong characters. Frustrating!
First UP cancelled Heartland, a great family show & now Ties That Bind, a great family/ police show. Now you are going to leave us hanging. Please reconsider your decision.
Don’t cancel it. Every time a great show comes on you take it away. Ties that bind is a great show. Bring it back
This should definitely be continued. It was one of the best police shows on tv. Can’t understand why UP would cancel it. It is better than some if the reality shows on there. Sorry to see it go and hope they reconsider their decision to cancel it.
I loved this show! They were great characters and they made a great family! I loved how much Cameron was bonding with Allison and Matt before his mother ruined everything and he ran away!
I loved that show!!! I just googled it to find out when will the next season begins, And here I find that it was cancelled. Plz bring it back. Oh no!!!! It’s a great show
Please renew this series. It’s a great show. Very inspiring & uplifting!
The t.v. program “Ties that Bind” should have been renewed. Maybe Netflix will pick it up?(Hint!,Hint!)
I’m so happy this series is still going to be on TV this year! It’s relevant, it is clean, and it’s well acted. I’m very impressed that UP scheduled the show and I hope a lot more people will watch it.
I saw on their Facebook page they are not renewing it for a second season. I will not watch anything on UP again. This was a great show. I was really hoping for a second season.
This is the post from Facebook. So, whomever is in charge on this site, must not have heard the news yet.

After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
