TNT has had both great successes and big disappointments when it comes to their original scripted shows. Which of the current crop will be cancelled or renewed for another season? Stay tuned!
Scripted TNT shows listed: Agent X, The Alienist, Animal Kingdom, Claws, Dallas, Falling Skies, Franklin & Bash, Good Behavior, I Am the Night, The Last Ship, The Lazarus Project, Legends, The Librarians, Major Crimes, Murder in the First, Perception, Proof, Public Morals, Rizzoli & Isles, Snowpiercer, Transporter: The Series, and Will.
Last updated: Most recent ratings added for The Lazarus Project.
There’s lots of data that TNT execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. Here’s an updated listing of all of their recent/current primetime scripted shows.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also view them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
What do you think? Are you surprised by any of the ratings? Which shows should be doing better? Which one do you think will be cancelled next?
Legends was revamped for this year and I liked it last year, but this year I’m hooked, but now it appears to be cancelled. Dammit! Let’s start a petition.
I also can’t believe TNT cancelled Legends!!! Wow, TNT is really losing it & viewership will suffer greatly for cancelling the absolute best shows!!! As a former viewer of TNT all the time, this has upset me soooo much that I doubt I will b watching the network anymore. It would b a waste of time!!! TNT, ur network really needs 2 get it together or otherwise I see a very bad future 4 it!!!
I can’t believe Public Morals has been cancelled! In my opinion, this show was the absolute best show airing on TNT!!! I’ve been watching TNT for many, many years & I’m totally shocked by this decision! Im fed up with TNT & will NO longer be watching this channel! 2 cancel a show that finally brought something wonderfully creative & vastly entertaining 2 this network & without giving the show enough time 2 truly reel in an appreciative audience is the network’s loss & I so hope it gets picked up by another network & then TNT will see what they’ve… Read more »
This sucks proof gone every show you make good gets cancelled what is up ?
I agree with Jan and cannot believe that Public Morals was cancelled! As a career LEO, I found the show to be very realistic, well written and produced. The cast was extremely good certain ensemble (Brian Dennehy is terrific) and Edward Burns is an extremely talented and gifted actor, writer and director. Teamed with his “partner in crime”, Stephen Speilberg, I find it absolutely unbelievable that a show of this quality has been cancelled! PLEASE TNT, give it another try—this time promote it much better!
oh no…i like legend.
Agent X, Just discovered this show on demand. Great show. Keep it! My wife and I are watching 1 after another. This show is as good or better then Blindspot NBC, Rizzoli and Isles is not as good. Give it time. Thank you
This season’s Legend series was tremendous. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire season. The last episode was explosive. This was the first, non US-centric show I have ever seen on TV, usually only limited to the movies. IT WAS GREAT! Can’t wait until next season when it picks up.
You never gave Public Morals a chance. Shame on you.. Terrific cop show that was so well-written. Actors EXCELLENT ! KUDOS to ED BURNS. Take some of the garbage off that your network has on the air. Leave the good ones on like Legends, Perfection, Proof & Public Morals. No need for them to be off. This was great entertaining. You had writers that made it worthwhile to watch these shows & the actors who brought it all together. I always thought that TNT was a great network for many well- written shows. A network that I always watched because… Read more »
Legends is by far, one of the most intriguing tv series that I have watched thus far. It is beyond me and I dare say for many of the viewers out there, that the cancellation of this series is a mistake. Just because your viewer ratings did not blow your roof off, doesn’t mean that it did not blow ours off. Plus, how much more nonsense are you planning on showing us? I would pay money just to watch shows like Legends (Sean Bean’s acting, along with the rest of cast has been phenomenal and believe me, you don’t see… Read more »
Legends is a great show, to bad the top knuckleheads didnt give it a chance. Sean bean and the rest of the actors were great. Good writers too. Maybe another. Studio will pick it up and get it right.
Legends is by far one of the best and most interesting shows on tv. Sean Bean is terrific as the amnesiac spy. It’s sad that more people didn’t know about and/or watch this show. If you liked him as the original Hand of the King in Game of Thrones you would be riveted by his performance in Legends. I truly hope this show gets picked up by another metwork!!
You cancelled two most intelligent shows on TV: Legends and Proof! Why? Viewership cannot be and should not be the only criterion when renewing the shows. Granted, both shows required IQ higher than 100, but the mere fact that majority of your viewership lacks that kind of intelligence should not deprive the rest of us to finally enjoy something on TV that does not involve ridiculous vampire chases, sex, and Kardashians. Where is your pride of productionship? Keep them in play and the viewers will come. After all, if you build them, they will come.
legends, public morals, perception all our favorite shows I don’t get tnts reasoning
I am really disappointed that Dallas has been cancelled. It was a great show that really improved on the first series. I was Looking forward to the new season.
