Last year, ABC Family introduced three new dramas — Twisted, Ravenswood, and The Fosters. Ravenswood (a Pretty Little Liars spin-off) has been cancelled while The Fosters has been renewed. What will become of Twisted?
Airing on Tuesday nights, Twisted is a mystery/thriller series that revolves around 17 year old Danny Desai (Avan Jogia). Six years ago, he was charged with killing his aunt and he ended up spending five years in juvenile detention. Now, he’s been released and has returned to his small hometown in New York. As he tries to resume his life, a classmate is killed and Danny becomes a key suspect. The cast also includes Madelaine Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Ashton Moio, Kimberly Quinn, Denise Richards, and Sam Robards.
The pilot episode aired as a special preview in March 2013 and drew 1.19 million viewers. It wasn’t a great start but the ratings picked up when the regular season started in June. They quickly fell again but ABC Family ordered 10 additional episodes of Twisted anyway. That decision may have been influenced by the fact that they had recently cancelled Bunheads and The Lying Game.
When the second half of the season kicked off in February and viewership nearly hit a new low, despite the fact that it had popular Pretty Little Liars as a lead-in. Last week, when Twisted no longer had that strong lead-in, viewership hit an all-time low with just 726,000 viewers.
The second half of the season averaged 1.11 million viewers. Ravenswood was cancelled with higher viewership. Based on these numbers, it’s looking unlikely that ABC Family will order a second season of Twisted.

it should be renewed for the second season the series is awesome and epic I just couldn’t get enough of season 1. one of the best series in the world.

This series has been a thrill and a delight to watch. It seems a lot of tv shows anymore revolve around sex, drugs and violence; but with this show it was much more. It didn’t focus on the violence. It didn’t focus on sex or anything I have ever seen before in a tv series. It focused on the problems of the characters and the turmoils of their pasts; showing their struggles and how they pull through them together. It is rare that I become so interested in a series. This was probably one of the best shows I have ever seen. It kept me on edge, made me question a million possibilities, and I couldn’t wait to see how everything unfolded. I hope that a second season is made because shows like this are extremely rare and it needs to keep going. Bring it back!
It has been a long time since I’ve seen a series this interesting and unpredictable. It kept me hooked from episode one all the way until the end. The twists and turns kept me on my toes the entire time. Normally I can figure out what is going to happen when watching movies and television series, but with this series my suspicions were wrong almost every time. Twisted never had a lot of advertisement.. and when it did.. the ads weren’t as great as they should have been. ABC obviously has a bad habit of canceling shows. I really hope this isn’t another one to the list. In all honesty, after reading more of the comments here, I wouldn’t be surprised if the season DID cancel…. and shortly following the rest of the ratings going down. OMG, where is season 2? I have to watch it all. You can’t start a story and not end it.
Sell twisted to Netflix ABC. They could do it better. The generation that watches it are moving out of there parents houses and not getting cable, they are getting internet. If Disney was smart they would be getting in on that action and making there ABC shows streamable via app or channel on devises like roku.

I am so sick of finding new program gems like Twisted which I become attached to very quickly thanks to Netflix only to have them cancelled partway into season 1 or at the very end. Please don’t give me another reason to cancel my cable television in disgust!

Twisted should make more seasons!! It is my favorite show and I wouldn’t want it to stop. It is very engaging and interesting. Please make more seasons.
Why do you take away a good show, just watched season 1 on netflix and loved it please do another show you can not leave us hanging. I watch mostly online but will definetly watch it if you put up season 2.
