Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Please bring V back. I really enjoyed it.
I want them to bring it back to tv.
Please bring it back omg so pissed were is season 3 bring back
What the hell?? Watched every episode (and loved them), then to see it trail off like this… omg.. so pissed off. Could’ve at least finalised it with some sort of proper ending. =P At least a double episode/movie installment to end it. Didn’t have to just cancel. Omg….. omg… The same thing happened to that Stargate show with the runaway ship.
My life will be forever incomplete….
I remember watching the original back in the 80’s when I was a kid and I loved it.was pretty damn excited when they brought it back and upset when they got rid of it. Screw you ABC and screw you sci fi for not picking it up
You should have used more of the original cast earlier especially Mark Singer ,der.
I hat the fact that ABC cancelled the v show it was better then star crossed ABC you suck dick for a living I hope one day someone will remake this show
The new series wasn’t nearly as good as the original but it did have some intriguing elements. The last episode that aired hinted that the hybrid child could bliss humans AND it looks like the series was all set to bring back Marc Singer who was from the original cast. It was also good to see “Diana” from the original series. The new show had promise but it definitely left TONS of cliffhangers
Sci fi network or Netflix or maybe a better network would’ve got the ratings they needed
The show was thrilling and had me over curios .I was waiting to c how all the treacherous deed would end up being overcome .this can’t end like this ,it’s a travesty that after all that great work we can’t get da end result of all the cliffhangers.
Hopefully ,the show can come back with a season to remember after that unbelievable finale .please give us at least one more season .
What about the truth ?
That show was horrendous. All the potential from the aliens side was ruined by the miserable , absolute dregs from the bottom, human characters.
Really, we don’t need lower order trash characters to empathize with. The old V TV series had some decently fun and heroic characters, not whiners all over the place.
Also, Laura Vandervoort’s character had more potential than the teenage idiot way in which she was used.
the series is excellent, the problem is the TV station repeat a lot, jump chapters, change the hours.
I am great fan of V and I wish that they make the last season and end the war between human and allien. Actually it has become customary that all TV station left incomplete series. This creates that nobody can’t trust and not interested to see it, because they believe that there not an good end
It’s a shame that the cancelled shows did not get the 50 million viewer ratings that the reality show gets.
Every couple of weeks they add another reality Show,
Don’t they realized that not everybody cares about what other people are doing.
Thank goodness for Netflix and Prime. Cancelled cable 2 years ago, haven’t missed it yet.
Just finished the series today and i am totally disappointed with abc’s decision of not continuing this wonderful tv series! How could they do this to us? Leaving us in a end of season like this? Well as far i can tell i will not watch another series by ABC ever, i am done with them and also my friends unless they are will to do something about it!
This is why so many people are fed up with TV. You start getting hooked on a show and the networks pull the plug because they’re not satisfied with their revenues.
I think that shows should never end with a cliffhanger unless they are guaranteed that they will be renewed. “V” and “Sarah Connors Chronicles” were big let downs for their fans and I’m sure there are many more.
