You can put a stake in Van Helsing but the show’s not dead yet. The Canadian TV series, which airs on Syfy in the United States, has been renewed for a fifth and final season of 13 episodes. Season four concludes this Friday night. Season five production will begin in early 2020 and the last episodes will begin airing later in the year.
A horror-fantasy series, Van Helsing, stars Kelly Overton, Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, Neal McDonough, Vincent Gale, Rukiya Bernard, and Aleks Paunovic. Joining the cast are Tricia Helfer, Richard Harmon, Nicole Munoz, Keeya King, and pro-wrestler Big Show. The show centers on Van Helsing descendent Vanessa “Van” Helsing, who awoke from a coma to find vampires had overtaken the world. A prime target for the vampires, she’s also humanity’s last hope with her immunity to vampires and her ability to turn them into humans. In season four, the first of four vampire elders has been freed and legend has it that when their four Totems are combined, the Dark One will be resurrected. It’s a race against time as Van and her ragtag group of heroes face off against the forces of darkness.
The fourth season of Van Helsing is averaging a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 293,000 viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by 8% in the demo and down by 24% in viewership.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring the amazing Van Helsing saga to a close,” said executive producer Chad Oakes, according to THR. “This could not have been done without the support of our incredible cast, crew, Syfy, Netflix, and Super Ecran.” Netflix distributes the series globally while Super Ecran releases it in Quebec.

If the story line stays true to the first 3 seasons I think it could make 6 seasons if not more.

I really enjoy this show and would definitely like it to continue. There are to many seasons of shows that they end up canceling while us viewers are sitting waiting for an ending!!

I love this show. Love all the characters. Also, I want the actors to know they have done a wonderful job! I would love for it to get picked up for more seasons. I record this religiously and freak if it doesn’t. If cancelled, I hope Netflix picks it up (like they did for Lucifer). I am sure all of fans would love that!
Fun show with great twists. Always open to season 6 but if not, hopefully wrapped up well. Too many cast changes last season in losing 2 original Van Helsing characters.
Absolutely love this show, it’s one of my favorites.
Please Alert us to when Season 5 will be back on the air. We save shows to binge and we just got to the end of season 4.

I wish it could go 3 more seasons. But if season 5 is it I hope they end it well and we get the answers we want to bring it all together and make sense. In other words, end the story well!
I hope you change your mind and don’t end the show on the 5th season, as it’s my favourite show on TV at the moment, so please keep it going.
I love the show, but I’ve only seen it to the end of Season 3 on Netflix. Can’t wait for Season 4.
