TV show description:
This TV series is based on the true story of former Las Vegas Sheriff Ralph Lamb (Dennis Quaid), a fourth-generation rancher tasked with bringing order to Las Vegas in the 1960s. It’s a gambling and entertainment mecca that’s emerging from the tumbleweeds.
Ralph Lamb wants to be left in peace to run his ranch, but Las Vegas is now swelling with outsiders and corruption which are intruding on his simple life. Recalling Lamb’s command as a military police officer during World War II, the Mayor appeals to his sense of duty to look into a murder of a casino worker.
This begins Lamb’s clash with Vincent Savino (Michael Chiklis), a ruthless Chicago gangster who’s moved West and plans to make Vegas his own. (The character is based on real-life crime boss Marcello Giuseppe Caifano.)
Lamb has two deputies who help him keep law and order. His diplomatic and even-keeled brother is Deputy Jack Lamb (Jason O’Mara). Deputy Dixon Lamb (Taylor Handley) is his charming but impulsive son.
The ambitious Assistant District Attorney, Katherine O’Connell (Carrie-Anne Moss), grew up on the ranch next to the Lambs and also lends a hand in preserving justice.
Episode #21 — Sons of Nevada
After Porter Gainsley’s bombing of the Tumbleweed and attempt on Katherine’s life, Lamb and Savino decide to team up to take out their common adversary once and for all. To prove his commitment to the task, Lamb hands over the tapes with the recordings from the bug in Savino’s phone, and then the mobster and former sheriff get to planning their assault on Gainsley.
Since the ranching mogul is too heavily protected at his home, they decide to target him at a livestock auction, but that plan goes awry when Dixon shows up and holds Gainsley at gunpoint. A firefight breaks out and Lamb is forced to save his son and flee, giving Gainsley time to regroup and amass more artillery for the coming war.
When Jack is ousted as interim Sheriff by more of Gainsley’s men, he and Dixon join forces with Lamb and Savino, and together they craft a plan that involves using Jones the hitman to put Gainsley in a corner. Jones plays his part well and leads Gainsley and his thugs into a trap, where Lamb gives him his freedom as a reward.
After an intense firefight, Lamb gets the drop on Gainsley and decides to arrest him instead of killing him, setting the proper example for his son and staying true to his morals.
In the end, Lamb gets his Sheriff job back, putting him at odds with Savino and his plans for growth in Vegas yet again.
Meanwhile, Jack plans to propose to Mia, but his plans are derailed when she breaks up with him after finding out about the bug he planted in Savino’s phone.
Tommy pursues Mia even harder, and the two wind up spending the night together. After Gainsley is taken into custody, Jack goes to Mia’s place to fight for her, but is crushed when he discovers Tommy there with her — in nothing but a bath robe.

What do you think? Do you like the Vegas TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please! If all of you are serious (and interested), would you be willing to see if we can start a petition to bring this series back into production and get it back on the air (at CBS or any other network(?
If enough of us signed it, maybe we could persude the “powers that be” to rconsider.
It’s happened before and it’s at least worth trying.
Thanks
Please! If all of you are interested in bringing this show back, would you be willing to start a petition that we can send to CBS (or any other network)?
If enough of us sign our support, it might persuade the “powers that be” to reconsider and resume production. It’s happened before!
Thanks,
John, I’d be the FIRST ONE to sign a petition to bring “VEGAS” back on the air !!
It amazes me that they keep bringing “NEW SHOWS for FALL” when the viewers were more than happy with the “OLD SHOWS that WE FELL IN LOVE WITH” !! Something’s not jiving with the “Front Office & The Network” !! Could it be that our request for
“VEGAS” is “falling on deaf ears” ??
I have been complaining ever since Vegas was cancelled. Of course I will sign a petition
YES, I WOULD SIGN ANY PETITION TO GET VEGAS BACK ON THE AIR.
I am old school but do watch some of the reality shows however I am tired of some of the crap they are putting on tv know days and saying these are normal family’s. they need a cleansing of what is put on tv for the younger kids to watch and this was a good show to sit down and watch with your young kid and be able to explain to them
Your comments are so true – but to no positive results in bringing this good show back on the air. thanks for the comment though.
There is so little to watch of television and Vegas was a welcome oasis is what is often a desert landscape.
Please someone have the good sense not to let this show die. If CBS didn’t know what a good thing they had, perhaps there is another network out there that will recognize a winner and revive it.
Mollie: These comments have been going for several months now, and we all agree that this show was a joy to watch because of the writing and acting.
We would LOVE to see this show come back again.
I loved this show!! I’m getting sick of all the reality crap. So PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!!
AMEN to that! So many of us want this show back – so, what’s the holdup?
This was a good TV show not some BS reality show. They need to bring this type of action drama show back on the air !!!
Please bring it back.
My husband and I both looked forward to this program. I am very sorry that it won’t be renewed. Why is it when we just get into a good program ,it is taken off the TV and you never know what happens.
Love the show, looking forward to the new episodes. !!
BRING IT BACK
All of us who wrote comments would LOVE to see this show “VEGAS” come back on the air. So – who needs to be contacted so we can revitalize this amazing cast and character show? So many of us are fed up with the trash they (the networks) are pushing upon us.
Bring back some of the intelligent shows, like VEGAS.
Thought it was entertaining would like too see it return.
I loved this show!! Please, please, please bring it back!!!
Rosie
Please bring back Vegas. So many shows are good and just when the story takes off and the characters are developing, they get cancelled. Most of these shows should be given the chance to play out. If not, at least picked up by another cable network. No wonder so many people are watching the old shows on networks like ME TV. Those were great shows. Get rid of the reality shows or at least cut back on them.
I will not watch new shows til I know that they will be picked up for another season.
We love “Vegas”. I would rather watch Vegas all week long than watch the cheeses, boring reality shows . Why do networks think people like reality tv? We love the actors, the story line and 60’s theme of Vegas. Please please renew
I agree with Gene and T.J. and all the other INTELLIGENT folks who write about wanting Vegas back. What a shame on all those in “command” that took this wonderfully written show off the air so the AIRHEADS of America can watch all the crap that’s on now. Especially during the Summer months when most of the better shows are off for a while now. I guess we’ll just have to find other ways of entertaining ourselves due to the fact that there just isn’t anything that’s worth watching. TOO BAD!!!!
I have been waiting and waiting… I never saw that Vegas was cancelled. I hope that CBS will have them back soon. I really love the show. Come on CBS… If they don’t do it, maybe one of the other network pick them up… If they are smart.
Gene, I agree with you, but somehow I’m getting the feeling that we’ve been swept
under the rug and the trash shows keep on going. I’ve always been a guy for quality
in tv viewing, but what these morons are feeding us is FAR from QUALITY !!
VEGAS was such a believable show that we couldn’t wait for next week’s episode !!
CBS needs a complete overhaul in the smarts department. Can you imagine how many viewers they would attain should they reinstate VEGAS ??!!
I am with everyone else that I am sick of all the stupid comedy shows on TV and the reality shows, it is so hard to find something good to watch, its so bad you have to watch the old shows like Gilligan’s Island, Brady Bunch and things of this nature to have something decent to watch, CBS you made a terrible mistake by taking this show off tv
Melissa, You’re not the only person who feels this way, but what puzzles me is that there are SO MANY GOOD SHOWS the cable channels WON’T SHOW….like, Police Woman, starring Angie Dickenson, Petrocelli, with Barry Newman, Fall Guy with Lee Majors, or how ’bout Six Million Dollar Man, also a big hit of the ’70’s with Lee Majors !!! These are just an example of “adult” entertainment that COULD HOLD YOUR INTEREST for the ENTIRE HOUR !! Our beloved “VEGAS” took a bum rap for some reason, and it sure wasn’t because of “lack of viewership” !! The THOUSANDS of… Read more »
AMEN to that – still waiting to hear that they will reinstate VEGAS – would be great for all the viewers that love this show
