Hamilton isn’t the only political figure Lin-Manuel Miranda can rap about. Recently, the Broadway star wrote a musical tribute to the classic NBC series The West Wing, TVLine reports.
Created by Aaron Sorkin, the political drama was set in the West Wing of the White House and followed the staff of the fictional U.S. president Jed Bartlet (Martin Sheen). The cast also included Bradley Whitford, Rob Lowe, Richard Schiff, Allison Janney, and John Spencer. The show ran for seven seasons before ending in 2006.
For the tribute, titled “What’s Next?,” Miranda collaborated with The West Wing Weekly, a podcast about the show hosted by former cast member Joshua Malina and Hrishikesh Hirway.

What do you think? Are you a fan of The West Wing? Do you think there should be some kind of reunion or revival?
That was such a well done show. We still miss it, especially now with trump. Couldn’t think of a better time to bring it back….please!
As a crew member for many of the 7 seasons I can assure Arron and Tommy and NBC that those of us behind the cameras would flock to any reboot also! Wing Nuts by now know that the WW set was one of the happyest places in television history. Making the best of television is as much fun as it looks! We’d all be eger to do it again!
