Tonight marks the end of the first season of You, Me and the Apocalypse on NBC. Is the Thursday night series coming back? Would you watch season two?
A dramatic comedy, You, Me and the Apocalypse revolves around the last days of mankind. It’s discovered that a comet is on a collision course with earth in 34 days and an unexpected chain of events is set in motion. The cast includes Mathew Baynton, Joel Fry, Pauline Quirke, Jenna Fischer, Kyle Soller, Rob Lowe, Gaia Scodellaro, Paterson Joseph, Megan Mullally, Diana Rigg, and Fabian McCallum.
A UK co-production, this series first aired on Sky 1 in late 2015. While it seemed like the series was envisioned as a “one season show”, the door was left open for a second season.
When the series didn’t perform very well for NBC here in the States, that seems to have closed the door on the prospects for a second season and You, Me and the Apocalypse was “cancelled“. The loose ends in the finale may never be tied up.
But, what do you think? Would you have watched a second season? Are you satisfied with the way the show ended?
While NBC has not cancelled it yet, Sky who produced the show has. So, I do not expect a Season 2
Absolutely NOT… I didn’t even get through season I.
It has to have a second season. I really looked forward to watching it. PLEASE have a second season
Yes, I would watch a Season Two. The show was original and very funny.
I fell in love with the show. I really want a second season, I want Jamie to live, I want good to win over bad!!
NBC this show definitely needs a second season. Please don’t leave us at the door of apocalypse.
I fell in love with the show. I really want a second season, I want Jamie to live, I want good to win over bad!!
This definitely needs a 2nd season. That ending was not only unexpected and possibly the most original twist in tv for a long while it was also maddeningly unsatisfying. Too much needs to be resolved. This show shouldn’t join Firefly or Journeyman.
This was an amazing, intriguing story arc. It was bitingly funny and at times really touching, at times VERY dark. Who was in the box??? Was Jamie able to save himself and Rhonda’s husband? Yes. Too many unanswered questions and a couple of brilliant performances.
PLEASE give us some closure!
There *HAS TO BE * a 2nd season AT LEAST! EXCELLENT show! The cast is wonderful – such a cliffhanger…. We need to know what happens next!! Poor Jamie!!! Such crap shows on TV that get renewed without question – this show is far superior!!
i would love a second season. i thought it was very entertaining
This show is absolutely amazing. Personally this is a show that I would think about all week, and I was always looking forward to Thursday night. It has so many unanswered question, tons of places to go for a second season, and more character levels that the writers could explain more through a second season. Please renew this fantastic show.
I want a 2nd season . I don’t think NBC gave it a chance . I was totally drawn to the show & where the episodes was heading . I believe it’s unfair to leave it ended tht way .. Jamie was outside the bunker .. cmon people renew it !!
I want this show back. Just watched the finale tonight and there are so many questions left unanswered. Damn fine show…
I think this is a show I would have to sit and binge-watch. I actually was recording it faithfully for a few weeks and then….blah…I just stopped watching. I wasn’t drawn to any of the characters, besides Rob Lowe’s, and if I’m not into the characters, I lose interest. A second season? Meh. I;d have to hear the story lines, to be honest.
I agree with Deb. Too many doomsday scenarios. I want to be entertained and for me that means the good guys and gals win. I was never that much into it but I watched, when Rob Lowe’s character died, I lost interest. I thought he was entertaining.
Actually, this is one of my go-to shows. Some of the shows I record, I’m 6 deep into. Like The Outsiders, The Magicians, and a few others. But this show, the Walking Dead, Lucifer, Nashville we’re the ones we would always go to First and then fall off into the others. So yes, definitely a second season.
