Tonight marks the end of the first season of You, Me and the Apocalypse on NBC. Is the Thursday night series coming back? Would you watch season two?
A dramatic comedy, You, Me and the Apocalypse revolves around the last days of mankind. It’s discovered that a comet is on a collision course with earth in 34 days and an unexpected chain of events is set in motion. The cast includes Mathew Baynton, Joel Fry, Pauline Quirke, Jenna Fischer, Kyle Soller, Rob Lowe, Gaia Scodellaro, Paterson Joseph, Megan Mullally, Diana Rigg, and Fabian McCallum.
A UK co-production, this series first aired on Sky 1 in late 2015. While it seemed like the series was envisioned as a “one season show”, the door was left open for a second season.
When the series didn’t perform very well for NBC here in the States, that seems to have closed the door on the prospects for a second season and You, Me and the Apocalypse was “cancelled“. The loose ends in the finale may never be tied up.
But, what do you think? Would you have watched a second season? Are you satisfied with the way the show ended?
This show has to come back!!! Ariel can’t win…it must be Jamie! Every episode had you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. That’s so rare in today’s reality tv filled crap. Why is intelligent television constantly cancelled?
More more more more. Bring it!!!!!
This was an incredible show in a field of lame shows. Intelligent and fun, I was mesmerized with the characters. and….agh! what now? I wan t more!!!!
Well written, and so many twiats and turns…..we were devastated when we heard that it had been cancelled. I hadn’t heard alot about it before, there didn’t appear to be much publicity prior to airing. I recorded it and binge watched it in April, with my son whom also loved it! Really deserves a second season!
OMG – life in the bunker – maybe it misses – only part of the world or only the rich because their bunkers all contain defective something or other – we could go on and on and so should this show – LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Please bring this show back for a second season. It deserves a second chance. Loved it!!
totally bummed out!
Who said life on this planet ends with a meteor.? It would have been great fun to see the survivors come out of the bunker and face life without all the modern conveniences like tech, electricity, cell phones, gasoline, etc.
Who says life on this planet would end with a meteor? The survivors in the bunker might have survived, left the bunker and attempted to live life again on this planet. It would have been done without cell phones, tech, electricity, gasolene, etc. tI would have been a hoot to watch them adjust. NBC lost a great show idea by letting them survive
Who says the world ended with a meteor? It might have survived with limited technology, gasoline, lights, etc. what hoot to see them emerge from the bunker and restart life again on different terms. NBC gave up a great opportunity. Now show the 11th episode that was cancelled, but announced last week.
Exceptional writing and marvelous acting! PLEASE bring back this much loved and most entertaining show!!!
Give this show a second chance. It takes time for viewers to get to know the characters. I think many viewers are now attached to the characters and the story lines. Renew this show!
Would have LOVED to see another season… Just stinks that they keep doing junk like this. Canceling shows and giving the avid watcher no closure.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not cancel this wonderful crazy show!!! I MUST know what happens to Jamie and the rest of this ragtag group!!!!!
I really enjoy this show. It’s got everything drama, comedy, and most importantly really good writing. Breaking Bad was almost cancelled and look how well that show did. So I am very much looking forward to few more seasons. There is so much potential for this show to go far.
