Chase: NBC Cuts Episode Order; Closer to Being Cancelled?

ChaseThe network giveth and the network taketh away.

Even though the Chase series performed poorly right from the start, NBC gave the TV show a full season order of 22 episodes. Now, the peacock network has trimmed back that order to just 18 installments.

On the positive side, NBC is moving Chase out of the Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It’ll no longer have to battle against Castle and the new Hawaii Five-0. Unfortunately, beginning January 12th, it’ll be airing in a far more competitive timeslot. Chase is moving to Wednesdays at 9pm where it’ll do battle with American Idol.

The most recent episode of Chase garnered a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.03 million total viewers. That’s the second significant increase in two weeks but the series is still doing terribly and is consistently in a distant third place for the timeslot.

TV show supportChase has averaged a 1.6 rating for the season, just slightly better than now-cancelled Undercovers. Unless there’s a significant turnaround, it’s pretty clear that Chase will be cancelled at the end of the season.

What do you think? Does Chase still have a chance to be renewed for season two or is it already doomed to be cancelled?

I hope they don’t cancel. I don’t know why they don’t put it on either Friday or Saturdays. There is no competition on either of those days.

Like the stories and the cast, NBC just put it in a difficult time slots. Canceling the show will rob them of a potential winner, give it a real chance. Canceling it will be another bad move for a channel with programming problems.

I like this show and the cast is very talented. I watched tonight’s episode and was sad regarding Daisy’s character. By her actions her character will no longer be on this show. Her character was very interesting and tough. The writers of Chase could have come up with a better outocme for her. And her relationship with Luke was great. Its’ good to see biracial couples on non cable channel in an relationship. Why cut it off, before it had a chance to develop.

Just seen three episodes and far from impressed. Poor plots, shabby cast. And God Bless Texas all around.

Terrible show the main character constantly runs down the people even though they are in a car or on a motorcycle she is on foot and they have a ten block head start she is able to get ahead of them and be waiting in ambush. In fact she is not even tired after running 5 miles and being hit by a car or falling 20 feet and has enough energy left to beat up a man twice her size. She should work with Captain America, and Iron Man in the Justice Leauge and not for the Marshals service. Glad to see this unbelievable program hit the bricks

I cannot believe it will be canceled. Chase is one of the best series to come in a long time. I
watch a lot of shows that seem to get high ratings but I don’t understand how this show
can have poor ratings. It’s just a great show. I think the ratings are a fake…I got a Nielsens
survey and the the results came out before I even sent mine in. I think it’s a communist plot.

i think that they need to put it on Friday nights or Thursday nights. I think by doing this that they would give it a chance. You know everything deserves a second chance and I think if they cut this it would be the biggest mistake every :)

I love the show!!! Stop putting against proven hits and give it a chance. It is an excellent show…the best in that type of “officer” type show on T. V. in a very long time.

Chase is great, I take it out because if NBC gets to chase everyone was very disappointed.
CHASE IS THE MAXIMUM!

This would be a huge mistake to cancel show. I LOVE the show and think it’s one of the better shows out there. The cast has great chemistry!
