It was a significant fall for week two with a 1.6 rating (-20% episode-to-episode change) and 6.29 million. The news show was in second place for the two hours, beaten in both cases by CBS crime dramas.
Season average: 1.8 demo with 6.77 million.
Friday, 09/23/11:
NBC kicked off the season with a two-hour installment and was up 25% in the 18-49 demographic, compared to last year’s 1.6 rating with 7.29 million viewers. It won its 9pm timeslot but tied with Blue Bloods on CBS at 10pm. The show is a fairly consistent performer for the network and continues to outperform many of NBC’s scripted shows.
Reference point: The Friday episodes of the 2010-11 season averaged a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.08 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
