HawthoRNe: Cast Reacts to TV Show Cancellation

HawthoRNe canceledIn case you haven’t heard, TNT has cancelled HawthoRNe after three seasons on the air. The medical drama ran for 30 episodes total, from June 2009 until August 2011. HawthoRNe’s ratings started out strong but dipped each season. It was the lowest-rated drama on TNT this summer except for Men of a Certain Age, a drama that was cancelled after two seasons on the air.

Series star Jada Pinkett Smith broke the news to her fans by writing, “Hey everyone…if you don’t know Hawthorne will not be returning for another season. I want to say thank you to all the fans for being Hawthorne soldiers. All our facebook fans…twitter soldiers and viewers…you held us down. Of course you know there is more to come…believe it!”

Following a steamy scene between Smith and costar Marc Anthony, there were rumors that the two were having an affair. Supposedly, she and her husband, Will Smith, were also splitting up. The Smiths issued a statement last week that addressed the rumors, “Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact.”

Vanessa Lengies (CNO Kelly Epson) sympathized with HawthoRNe fans who were sad about the show’s demise and tweeted, “Loyal HawthoRNe followers, u know if it was up 2 me I would play Kelly 4 you til you asked me 2 stop.” She also posted a few backstage photos of herself and the cast.

Aisha Hinds (Isabel Walsh) was upset by the cancellation news and wrote, “:-( Boooo!!! Love my HawthoRNe Family!”

I love hawthrone, very sorry to see it go, I really think todays shows are not worth watching, So its really sad when you find one worth watching,And it gets canceled, only to add another useless one

Please bring the show back, It was great if change network. I loved Jada in her role . I was looking forward to this coming season. I think it was a big mistake, Please bring then back including Marc Anthony he wonderful.

BRING HAWTHORNE BACK OR DO THE RIGHT THING AND LET ANOTHER CHANNEL HAVE IT! JADA is great in her role.

Tell Jada to get in touch with Oprah and arrange to bring HawthoRNe over to the OWN network. The show has a strong enough following and would help the struggling network as well. Its just a thought. If they do decide to do the show elsewhere, I would like to provide a little piece of advice. Stay away from the over the top somewhat unrealistic drama. This show was awesome in the beginning because it focused on the characters . It seemed to move at a more realistic pace as different situations developed in their lives. In the final season the characters were going from zero to 60. It was too much , too fast. It was sensationalism. The show didnt need it. Maintain your standards and your pace. Good drama without overkill. Thanks :-)

Pls send your thought about hawthorne directly to oprah….think she will jump on it! Besides Jada needs the distraction from Will if it..the divorce..is really happening damn tnt..axed men of. Certain age now this….where is your class?

Maybe they need to take the show to another network. !
I wish something would happen, I would love to see what

I loved this show…I went back and saw from the first episode to the last aired and when I was all caught up the show canceled…really……this really sucks feet!!!

Awww that sucks BIG time!… :( I loved Hawthorne… I agree with the person commenting before me Boo TNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well are there going to be 30 episodes of the three seasons to come out on dvd? And soon I pray!!!….

They always cancel the good shows and leave the junk. I was really getting into “Hawthorne”…I mean, it could be a little over the top sometimes, but it is television. hate to see it go…

I loved this show. We’ll never know the outcome of the shooting. I hate that maybe they need to do one more show 2 hours longs to finalize the finale. The characters were wonderful and the show was realistic. The stars did a GREAT job!!
