TV show description:
This dramatic series revolves around Elizabeth McCord (Tèa Leoni), a newly appointed Secretary of State. She’s a shrewd and determined woman who drives international diplomacy, battles office politics and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues — both at the White House and at home.
A college professor and a brilliant former CIA analyst who left the agency for ethical reasons, Elizabeth returns to public life at the request of the President — following the suspicious death of her predecessor.
President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine) values her apolitical leanings, her deep knowledge of the Middle East, and her flair for languages. He also appreciates her ability to not just think outside the box, but to not even acknowledge there is a box.
McCord debates third world problems, finesses foreign dignitaries at work and does battle with the President’s combative Chief of Staff Russell Jackson (Željko Ivanek).
Elizabeth’s team includes her Chief of Staff Nadine Tolliver (Bebe Neuwirth), speechwriter Matt Mahoney (Geoffrey Arend), press coordinator Daisy Grant (Patina Miller), and her charming assistant Blake Moran (Erich Bergen).
In her personal life, she has a supportive husband, Henry (Tim Daly), and three children — Stephanie “Stevie” (Wallis Currie-Wood), Alison (Katherine Herzer), and Jason (Evan Roe).
Episode #120 — Leaving the Station
President Elizabeth McCord kicks off a new landmark political initiative with help from members of the World Cup Champion U.S. Women’s Soccer team, while Flo Avery (Cicely Tyson), who was born the day women were granted the right to vote, looks on. Opposing the initiative is Senator Amy Ross (Tyne Daley) from Ohio. Also, the McCords overcome last-minute obstacles to pull off a spectacular family celebration with a reunion of familiar faces, that includes a performance by Peter Frampton.
First aired: December 8, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Madam Secretary TV show? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season?
Great show…getting intense !
Keep it on!
think it should be renewed
This is one of the few TV shows we watch each week. It’s current and well done. We vote to have it renewed.
Please keep the show on.
The show is incredible. Tired of all the cop shows and vampire shows. Real world issues. Love it.
This is one show that’s believable. Also I like the general way it gives a look at DC.
To bad to see it go.
This is a fantastic series…..hope it continues. Wish more programs could be this upbeat. If T ‘ea Leoni were to run for President, I think we would all vote for her. Love her morals…..
Hard to come by these days.

My husband and I love the whole cast! Really like Tim Daly getting bigger parts!
My wife and I enjoy this show so very much and hope that it will continue. It is very up to date with world affairs and does provide talking points.
Please keep producing this show.
I used to enjoy the show, but it seems Mr Daly wants more of the limelight with each new episode! The show should be called Madame and Mr Secretary! It is becoming less about her and more about Tim and his spy games… CBS, should just give Mr Daly his own spin off show, “Mr Husband”. It seems from the responces, that females like the show as is, but this male viewer, liked the show when Mr Daly was just the husband taking care of the family not a professor/spy/husband/father etc. etc. trying to get more camera time than the… Read more »
I love this show! I look forward to watching it each week! I set my dvr to record it when I’m not home so that I never miss a show! However when 60 minutes cuts into Madam Secretary time and I’m not home I don’t get to see the full episode and that is very frustrating !! This is one of my favorite shows!
I love this show, and Téa Leoni has always been one of my favorite actors. Another actor I have enjoyed is Tim Daley. When the show is over and I go to bed, I feel short changed ONLY because I want more. Great plots. Sit at the edge of your seat action. Never knowing at what length Elizabeth will go thru to do what is right yet push at the edge of protocol. Keep up the good work. Change nothing.
I love this show! Best on TV!
One of my favorites and my friends’ favorites too. I even got my husband to start watching it, which was quite a feat.
One of our very favorite shows and we watch very little network TV – please keep producing this one!! The good ones with any depth always seem to get cancelled. What’s up with that anyway??
