Sons of Anarchy: FX TV Show Renewed for Season Four

Sons of AnarchySons of Anarchy revolves around the members of a motorcycle gang who protect their small town and make sure that their illegal arms business continue to thrive. At the center of the story is Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam), a young man who has great love for the brotherhood but feels conflicted by the club’s growing lawlessness.

The large cast also includes Johnny Lewis, Katey Sagal, Kim Coates, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Ron Perlman, Ryan Hurst, Theo Rossi, Tommy Flanagan, and William Lucking.

The TV show has been very successful for FX so it comes as no surprise that the cable channel has renewed Sons of Anarchy for a fourth season.

FX Orders Fourth Season of Its Hit Drama Sons of Anarchy

Critically Acclaimed Drama Starring Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman and Katey Sagal Is Basic Cable’s #1 Scripted Series Among Adults 18-49

8 All New Episodes Remain This Season Airing Tuesdays at 10 PM ET/PT With Season Three Finale Airing November 30

LOS ANGELES, October 7, 2010 — FX has renewed its critically acclaimed hit drama Sons of Anarchy for a fourth season, placing a 13-episode order from Fox 21 and FX Productions, announced John Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks.

Eight all-new episodes remain in SOA’s current third season airing Tuesdays at 10pm et/pt, and beginning in two weeks the encore runs will air Tuesdays at 11pm and 1am, Fridays at 10pm and Sundays at 10pm. The third season finale will air on Tuesday, November 30.

In 2010, Sons of Anarchy ranks as basic cable’s number one scripted series in delivery of Adults 18-49. On a weekly, multi-telecast basis, Sons of Anarchy delivers 8.6 million Total Viewers and 5.9 million Adults 18-49. On a first-run, primary telecast basis, Sons averages 4.9 million Total Viewers and 3.4 million Adults 18-49. It is the highest rated series ever for FX.

“Sons of Anarchy is the most popular show FX has ever had, and the #1 series in basic cable for our key demographic. It is also one of the best, most original series on television,” said Landgraf. “FX is grateful to Kurt Sutter and his team of writers, actors, directors and crew for working so hard to make a show that achieves both those levels of success. We congratulate them and look forward to season four.”

In the next episode of Sons of Anarchy (“The Push,” October 12, 10pm et/pt), the Sons of Anarchy must handle a rat at St. Thomas to protect their territory.

Sons of Anarchy was created by Kurt Sutter who also serves as Executive Producer along with John and Art Linson. The series is produced by FX Productions and Fox 21. Fox 21 is Twentieth Century Fox Television’s alternative production arm devoted to producing high quality programming on a lower cost basis.

FX is the flagship general entertainment basic cable network from Fox. Launched in June of 1994, FX is carried in more than 96 million homes. The diverse schedule includes a growing roster of distinctive original series and films, an established film library with box-office hit movies from 20th Century Fox and other major studios that run in prime time and an impressive lineup of acquired hit series.

What do you think? Are you glad to hear the show will be back for a fourth season?

Absolutely thrilled they’re putting it in fourth gear. The actors are superb. The writing is great. I thought for sure the future police chief was going to hook up with Jax’s old lady, till they killed him off. Since my bike has ten gears, hopefully there will be six more seasons to go. Love all of you, and all of your work. Congratulations to all. PS How do I get a bit part on this series? Love Jimmy

I am glad that sons of anarchy is coming back on again. It is the best show ever along with army wives that comes on tv. It is a shame that these two shows don’t come on all the time and is not a weekly show all the time without a break.
