Are you hungry for more 2 Broke Girls? Season six of the CBS TV series ends tonight, April 17th. But what about a seventh season? If renewed, will you keep watching the sitcom?
The comedy follows the unlikely duo of streetwise Max Black (Kat Dennings) and formerly-wealthy Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs), who work in a greasy diner that they now partially own. The cast also includes Garrett Morris, Jonathan Kite, Matthew Moy, and Jennifer Coolidge.
As is expected, the ratings for 2 Broke Girls have fallen since the sitcom premiered in 2011. So far, season six is averaging a 1.33 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.671 million viewers—middling for a primetime network comedy.
According to Deadline, mediocre ratings aren’t the show’s only problem. CBS is reportedly locked in tough negotiations with the series’ producing studio, Warner Bros. TV. The studio owns 2 Broke Girls outright and profits heavily from the show’s successful off-network airings while CBS receives no backend from the deal and still has to cover the show’s costs. It seems like the show is too lucrative to cancel, but will the renewal negotiations succeed? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
What do you think? Are you a fan of 2 Broke Girls on CBS? Do you want to watch another season or, is it time for the show to be cancelled? Please take our poll and share your opinion in the comments below.
When this show first premiered, I watched it with high hopes. After all. Max had me at, “I’m dead inside”. But the writers squandered a great idea with cheesy situations and potty humor. It was soon evident that the audience laughter was mostly from shock after getting hit with jokes about erections and orgasms. Two Broke Girls remained on our DVR lineup for three years but eventually got bumped when I realized the unwatched recordings were piling up fast. I really wanted to like it though. I really did.
Bad, uninspired writing. Juvenile toilet humor, mediocre acting at best. What’s to love about the show? Time for it to go. Life is too short to watch crap. It’s a shame Ed Quinn had any association with this.
JUST saw the final show…it was so worth the wait!! IT WAS GREAT…and it left me wanting so much more!!! PLEASE return for Season 7!!!!
C’mon haters, lighten up! I think it definitely deserves another season. And it would be a terrible ending if they didn’t get it. Fans of this show wouldn’t just be disappointed, they’d be outraged that the show was canceled after Max was left in such an awkward situation.
If you want to cancel a show or two you should cancel the Bachelor/Bachelorette, survivor, dancing with the stars and all the other reality-based shows
Tammy, I so agree with you. I too feel like they should cancel those stupid reality shows. I don’t watch any of those and am so glad I have Dish so I can watch something else. BRING BACK “Two Broke Girls”.
I HOPE THAT 2 BROKEGIRLS SEASON 7 COMES. I WHAT TO SEE MAX GET MARRIED TO RANDY.
I hope this show gets cancelled with no chance of a season 7 happening.
I watched it for awhile I think maybe 3 seasons, then I got bored with it. I haven’t watched it since. I don’t even watch the reruns, I change the channel until Big Bang Theroy comes on at 7pm.
Never watched it. Too stupid and actors tried too hard. Sounded fake, not at all like real people.
I love this show and hope there will be a season 7
Never watch it anymore
I watched the first two seasons, but as much as I love Kat Dennings, I couldn’t keep watching this horrible show with its juvenile toilet humor, obnoxious characters, and incessant short jokes.
Don’t care for it.
Would not watch the show. Didn’t care for the content.
Sorry, no I stopped watching this a long time ago. The story line has gotten very boring.
