24: Legacy just aired its season finale last night, but will there be a second season? Executive producer Manny Coto recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the future of the FOX TV series.
The 24 reboot stars Corey Hawkins as Eric Carter, an Army Ranger who becomes the target of a terrorist organization. The show’s cast also includes Miranda Otto, Jimmy Smits, Teddy Sears, Dan Bucatinsky, Anna Diop, Ashley Thomas, Charlie Hofheimer, Coral Pena, and Sheila Vand.
In the interview, Coto said FOX loves 24: Legacy and he hopes the network will renew the series for a second season:
I’m sure Fox would have wanted the ratings to be higher, but the fan reactions have been greatly gratifying. My guess is it’s a decision that will come some time in May [when all the bubble shows are evaluated], in concert with Fox’s decisions on their overall programming for next season. But I’m hopeful! I think the show is really good and I think Fox loves the show, so we’ll see.”
What would happen in season two? Coto revealed his plans:
There are ideas that we’ve floated around. We all know where we want to take the next season. I could say pretty confidently that it would probably be Eric as a CTU agent, and my guess is it would be in a place that’s not necessarily the U.S. As a young agent, he’s stuck somewhere. He’s not getting the choicest assignments. It might be fun [to focus on] someone in some backwater CTU station who ends up stumbling on a larger plot that could bring down the country. My feeling for next season would be something where the country is at stake in a large way. It involves Jimmy Smits and the country and his presidency. It would hopefully go big, and be more along the lines of Live Another Day, and be larger than life and still explore relationships, like Eric and his wife. Are they still together? Are they not?”
And what about any of the original 24 characters? Who would Coto bring back?:
Tony Almeida would definitely be in there, and I would love to bring back Chloe as well.”

Please keep it going! Bring Tony back and please try to get Chloe back she made the original 24 great! I think you will get more old viewers if they can see a few familiar faces because I think some people think the remake can’t stand up to the original but it sure has.
Also, Carter’s wife spent the entire season bemoaning his attention to his job and not her even in the middle of a crisis for egads sake. What a selfish beach buddy. And then at the end is all smiles. Poorly written. I would watch a new version but not this one as it made a female look like an idot.
There were a couple of gaping holes. Like did Carter’s wife new employer every wonder she was when she did not show up first day? Maybe I missed. That was one of many. Way “to pat” in many ways.
Does anyone care about tiny details? I’m sure she called if they go putting in minor details than the show would stink

Would love to watch season 2, i hope the terrorists in season 2 would be more aggressive, just like the villain, Abu-Fayed in 24: Season 6.

We love Fox’s 24 Legacy. It is original and intriguing even though it is a take off of 24. Sometimes it is a nail biter. The characters are unique and have their own brand of personality. I would hope viewers will jump on board and get involved in the real excitement this show as it is an instant star. Love it. Really want it to come back as for our family, we regard it as one of the best produced and executed shows of the season.
