This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

Would hate to see A Gifted Man not get a chance to get better, as it has been doing.
I loved the show. Patrick Wilson is so sexy with those steel blue Paul Newman eyes. I looked forward to Friday nights and this show. It received very little publicity and was a good clean show with no sex or violence. I guess that is why people did not watch
A Gifted Man is a very good show, deep like NCIS but with a few lighter moments. It’s worth keeping for us older folks who need something that doesn’t use a laugh track.
Keep the show…order more episodes for season two.
This is one of the few excellent shows on broadcast networks. Canceling it would be a big mistake.
I have been a follower of this show every week. The writing is wonderful and the message is very clear. I generally don’t waste my time on other shows on Friday night. This one definitely got my attention.
Please Please do not cancel A Gifted Man!!! I stay home on Friday nights just to watch the show. It is the only tv show on tv that I watch every Friday. Please CbBS DON’T CANCEL!

A Gifted Man is a terrific show. It should not be taken off the air. CBS would be making a wrong move and should reconsider. This show is a keeper!!!!
I love a gifted man. It is one of the best shows out right now. There might not be a big audience because its on friday nights. I think if it was on any other weekday it would have double the audience. People go out on Friday nights and that is why people are not watching it like they would. Please renew this show!!! I look forward to it every week!!
“A Gifted Man” is a breath of fresh air and a welcomed change from all of the disturbing crime related shows on CBS. Hulu & I will become even better friends if it goes!
My wife and I both enjoy “A Gifted Man” and will miss this show. It is the best show by far on a Friday night. Maybe it would have done better on a different night?
