The Alphabet Network is the last of the major networks to announce its fall premiere dates for the 2019-20 television season. New ABC shows launching this fall are Emergence, Kids Say the Darndest Things, Mixed-ish, and Stumptown.
Returning fall series are 20/20, America’s Funniest Home Videos, American Housewife, Black-ish, Bless This Mess, The Conners, Dancing with the Stars, Fresh Off the Boat, The Goldbergs, The Good Doctor, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, A Million Little Things, Modern Family, The Rookie, Schooled, Shark Tank, and Single Parents.
Shows that are expected to air later in the 2019-20 season include American Idol, The Bachelor, The Baker and the Beauty, Don’t, The Great Christmas Light Fight, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Station 19, United We Fall, and Videos After Dark.

New Series ‘Kids Say the Darndest Things’ Hosted by Tiffany Haddish Premieres Sunday, Oct. 6
ABC has set fall premiere dates for its new and returning series for the 2019-2020 season.
It all starts with the return of TV’s preeminent competition series, “Dancing with the Stars,” on Monday, Sept. 16 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT). “The Good Doctor” resumes its residency one week later – Monday, Sept. 23 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT).
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, “The Conners” returns (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT), followed by “Bless This Mess” at its new time (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT). Next, the “black-ish” universe expands with the series debut of “mixed-ish” (9:00-9:30 p.m. EDT), which tells the story of Rainbow Johnson’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the ’80s; and “black-ish” launches its sixth season at its new time (9:30-10:00 p.m. EDT). The night culminates with the series premiere of new drama “Emergence,” starring Allison Tolman as a police chief trying to unravel a mystery involving a young child (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT).
“The Goldbergs” kicks off the night on Wednesday, Sept. 25 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT), followed by “Schooled” (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT); the historic, final season debut of “Modern Family” (9:00-9:30 p.m. EDT); and the season two premiere of “Single Parents” (9:30-10:00 p.m. EDT). The series premiere of new drama “Stumptown,” based on the graphic novel and starring Cobie Smulders, rounds out the night (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT).
The longest-running prime-time medical drama, “Grey’s Anatomy,” launches its 16th season on Thursday, Sept. 26 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), followed by the season premieres of “A Million Little Things” (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT) and “How to Get Away with Murder” (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT).
“American Housewife” bows on its new night and time, Friday, Sept. 27 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT), followed by the season premiere of “Fresh Off the Boat” at its new time (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT), and ABC News’ “20/20” (9:00-11:00 p.m. EDT).
On Sunday, Sept. 29, “AFV” launches its 30th season (7:00-8:00 p.m. EDT). “Shark Tank,” dives into season 11 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT); followed by “The Rookie,” starring Nathan Fillion, which premieres on its new night and time (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT).
Sunday, Oct. 6, marks the series premiere of “Kids Say the Darndest Things” (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT). This fresh take on a TV classic is hosted and executive produced by comedic superstar Tiffany Haddish.

EMERGENCE
A character-driven genre thriller, “Emergence” is about a police chief who takes in a young child she finds near the site of a mysterious accident who has no memory of what has happened. The investigation draws her into a conspiracy larger than she ever imagined, and the child’s identity is at the center of it all.
Written and executive produced by Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters, Paul McGuigan directs the pilot and is an executive producer. “Emergence” is produced by ABC Studios. Comedic superstar Tiffany Haddish hosts and executive produces a new iteration of the classic variety show “Kids Say the Darndest Things.” The hilarious reimagined format showcases a mix of in-studio segments and taped pieces from across the country, all set in front of a live studio audience. The series will capture Haddish’s unique voice and sensibility as she interacts with real kids – and their innocently entertaining points of view.

In “mixed-ish,” Rainbow Johnson recounts her experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the ’80s and the constant dilemmas they had to face over whether to assimilate or stay true to themselves. Bow’s parents, Paul and Alicia, decide to move from a hippie commune to the suburbs to better provide for their family. As her parents struggle with the challenges of their new life, Bow and her siblings navigate a mainstream school in which they’re perceived as neither black nor white. This family’s experiences illuminate the challenges of finding one’s own identity when the rest of the world can’t decide where you belong.

Based on the graphic novel series, “Stumptown” follows Dex Parios – a strong, assertive and sharp-witted army veteran with a complicated love life, gambling debt and a brother to take care of in Portland, Oregon. Her military intelligence skills make her a great PI, but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and not quite in alliance with the police.
Writer Jason Richman produces the series with Ruben Fleischer and David Bernad (The District), Greg Rucka (author of the “Stumptown” graphic novel series), Matthew Southworth and Justin Greenwood (illustrators of the “Stumptown” graphic novel series).

Will watch: Gray’s anatomy, Station 19, this old house, I have a problem with the bachelor/bachelorette show especially right now with Hannah B . Weren’t her commercials all about her being a beast come on now she cries all the time it’s ridiculous then she keeps the one guy who is causing all kinds of BS and cry some more . Please ! I will also watch 20/20 . Maybe the bachelor has run its course I think I am watching adults and it’s like watching teenagers . I forgot to say I watch the Rookie!
I am so happy The Rookie returning my favorite show along with The Doctor.
The ONLY think we watch on ABC is THE ROOKIE. What a list of laughable train wreck shows once again. Come on ABC….. grow up & get rid of all the junk & losers!
