It’s been quite awhile since NBC had a successful drama on Sunday nights. Will American Odyssey change that and become a hit in the ratings? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On the American Odyssey TV show, an international cover-up explodes when the lives of a female Special Forces soldier, a disillusioned corporate lawyer, and a political activist from a privileged family unexpectedly collide. The cast includes Anna Friel, Peter Facinelli, Jake Robinson, Jim True-Frost, Sadie Sink, Omar Ghazaoui, Nate Mooney, Elena Kampouris, Daniella Pineda, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Treat Williams.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
6/30 update: NBC has cancelled the series after one season.
Final season averages: 0.54 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.96 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the American Odyssey TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
NBC no wonder you ratings are in the toilet, that’s because that is where your head is, you get a great show like American Odessy and you stoop to the lefest politically correct morons. You used to be journalist, now you would’t know the truth if tripped over it.Let’s see if you have the guts to print this.
Major Jim T US Army retired.
My husband and I stumbled on this series one Sunday night bored stiff as usual over the nonsense showed on TV on Sundays. We were hooked after episode 1. We quickly watched all 13 episodes in the series and then this block.. Christ……….. REALLY>>>>
I think the show is great.
I love this show….NBC what are you doing? Bring back the show!!!
Renew!
Someone please pick up American Odyssey!! I need to see the rest of this story. Odelle is back in the U.S.A. Aslam is… where? In my opinion, this is BETTER than Homeland. Please!
I hope the producers consider taking it to another network either one of the other major networks or cable.
Well I’m not surprised, NBC seems to favor idiot reality TV over a good story. I think some tweaking could have been done with the writing, more time with Odelle and less time bouncing back and forth. Most important, a different night. Too bad, it was a good show.
I hate to see this show canceled. My husband and I looked forward to each episode. Perhaps the commercial interruptions kept viewers from following the complicated story line. I felt it was worth the effort.
Very sad. I knew our opinion means nothing
@peterfacinelli
Big thanks to all the fans of #AmericanOdyssey. We aren’t getting renewed for season 2 But season 1 was a great ride. -much love.
Maybe this hits too close to home!
At first I was going to say I can’t believe they would cancel such a superior show, but then I thought wait a minute ratings are all that matter to “the suits”. It seems apparent that NBC was never really invested in the series. It was just a package they bought and if it worked out–great, if not dump it. What effort was made to find an audience? NBC has famously moved shows chasing after viewers. Regular watchers had to scramble to find where their show went. I will follow A.O. wherever it goes. I truly hope this is not… Read more »
NBC should reconsider- premise of show good. I want to see Odelle back in the States getting even!
I have no idea why you continue to cancel shows that the public enjoys watching because of so called ratings. Do your ratings take into consideration DVR’d ahowings? We may not all watch it the night it is originally on. I hate when I watch a show only to be left hanging and then it doesn’t return. Give it to another station then.
Quit the bullmess and go ahead and renew Odyssey
