It’s the end of the world as we know it. Sky has cancelled the You, Me and the Apocalypse TV series after its first season. The British-American sitcom airs on NBC, stateside.
Season one ends after the meteor hits earth. The survivors, played by stars including Mathew Baynton, Pauline Quirke, Diana Rigg, and Joel Fry, are ensconced in an underground bunker. Baynton was ready to tell the post-apocalyptic story, but Sky is letting the first and only season stand on its own.
Radio Times reports that Sky has decided against a second season of the show, for the narrative’s sake, which is rather refreshing. Here are the details:
“A story with the end of the world at its heart was always going to be hard to bring back and has reached its natural conclusion,” the broadcaster told RadioTimes.com.
“The news that a comet was on a unavoidable collision course towards earth triggered a joyous, fun, 34 day dramatic countdown to the end of the world in You, Me and the Apocalypse. Our cast of characters did things they never believed they would do and gave us a show that was loved by critics and the audience alike.
“We thank the entire creative team, cast and everyone working at Working Title Television and NBCUniversal International Studios”.
What do you think? Do you wish the You, Me and the Apocalypse TV show had been renewed for a second season, or do you think Sky did the right thing? Let us know. (I feel fine.)
I TOTALLY agree with Bernadette. So many loose ends. There needs to be a season 2, just to rap it up and complete the series.
Totally upset to hear this. Was hoping season 2 was getting close, now to find out there won’t be one, I’m at a lost. It ended so suddenly, bad guy winning, this cannot be. We need to have an ending.
The show did NOT reach “a natural conclusion”! The Evil Twin is in the bunker!
There needs to be a Second Season to properly complete the story!
Love this show. Bring it back.
DMANATION … I really liked this show and was thinking it was about time for season 2 … bsatrads !!!!
What I don’t understand is why here in United state they play unfinished TV series, in other countries if is not finished they don’t put it on air, sorry about my English I speak Spanish, I think is not fair to the audience, we pay for cable, is not that is free, I’m very upset and disappointed I think they have a great cast, the story is amazing the way they presented , I understand that maybe church is obset But , if it has a happy, positive end they shouldn’t be, but ups we don’t know the end, please… Read more »
Of Course! We all know that the ending scene was not necessarily the end. Too many unanswered questions that NBC and other networks love to do to viewers.
Yes please, there is a lot of people that want to see the show, it has so many good actors, is better than others come on
To whomever it concerns,This show is brilliant and I definitely think there should be a season 2.It sorta feels incomplete.I think you made a mistake.
Definitely needed a second season, or at least an episode or two to shut down ingoing story line.
Please, season two
needs a second season. the first season was excellent, but left unsatisfied by the ending, they certainly can continue it
It defiantly is needed for a making of season two
I couldn’t agree more that we all need a season 2. One of the best plot and character driven shows in a long while. Both interesting and humorous. We loved this show. Don’t be cruel. Please bring it back!
Yes!! We need more!! It is a very witty and we’ll written show with a stellar cast. And you can’t leave us hanging like this. Who’s in the crate? Lol please bring it back!!
