It looked like Army Wives might be coming to an end after six seasons. Now, it turns out that last night’s cliffhanger season ending might be a good sign for season seven.
Series star Catherine Bell has noted that, while Army Wives hasn’t been cancelled, it hasn’t been renewed yet either. Via her Twitter account, Bell said that the cast and crew filmed two endings for the season six finale which was filmed in June. Presumably one that would wrap up the show and another that would serve as a cliffhanger to lead into season seven.
Though Army Wives hasn’t been renewed, Bell hints that it’s “kind of a good sign” that Lifetime went with the cliffhanger ending instead of the tidy one.
If the Lifetime show does indeed come back, you can be sure that Bell will be a part of it. The actress signed a new two year deal with the studio back in May. It potentially commits her to two more seasons of the show and gives her a significant salary increase.
Who else would be returning? That seems to be up in the air since none of the other original Army Wives castmembers have contracts now that season six is over. If Lifetime wants them back, they’ll have to renegotiate salaries and that will presumably drive production costs.
That may explain why so many characters were left in jeopardy in the sixth season finale. If deals can’t be reached, Army Wives could return with several new faces. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
What do you think? Do you think Army Wives will return for a seventh season? If some in the cast don’t return, who would you miss the most? The least?
This ending was too sad for me. Need to clear it up and let some of the parents come back home and survive this crash.
I love Army Wives. It is true to form about how military life controls the family and with all of the ups and downs, it is riviting. I never miss it. It would be a shame to take it off the air, especially with our troops still in combat. They may be coming home, but, the reality is, the military is here to stay and so should “Army Wives”.
The best program of the whole week, please bring it back
BRING BACK ARMY WIVES!!!!!!!
I am wondering what did actually happen to Claudia Joy — is she off the show? I have watched Army Wives since season 1 and love the show, but not sure I like seeing all the characters I associate with the show leaving/gone.
I love this show and was devastated by the ending. I still feel like someone walked in the room, slapped me in the face and walked out. Please bring them back.
I also ead disappointed with the ending. I
love this show please
it back.
I am I love with this show. I would love to see what happens with each family and to know how all the kids grow up.
I was so disappointed at the ending of the Finale on Sunday! Since they advertized the series was ending, I thought it was extremely cruel (yes, I said cruel) to leave people hanging about the fate of some of the main characters. I absolutely hated it and have talked to other fans who felt the same!
Please, please bring it back! I love this show. It is hardwarming and is so true to life, letting you see firsthand what military families go through.
I am a widow army wives is my family and my life.I don’t want the show to end ever
Army wives is my life I have never missed a show.I think Gloria came back to replace Roxie cause she is sassy and lovable like Roxie. I don’t want to see anyone leave it would be like a death in the family to me but life must move on.Just please don’t take my life and tv family away from me PLEASE PLEASE bring them back keep an old woman happy a little longer.
Thank you,Judy Jones
I LOVE this series, real characters, real stresses, and situations like we should appreciate for our military! PLEASE, please, PLeasE give us season 7!! And that plane is still flying!!
Please keep Army Wives in the lineup. This is my Sunday night Ritual. I am sick of reality and comedy shows. This show brings to life what being a soldier or the family of one is like.
I am still debating if I want another season. I have loved this show, but the last season was a serious flop. They crippled the show by removing Claudia Joy, Roxy and Pamela as well as by elevating Denise in to a much undeserved lead. Not to forget it felt SO soap opera-ish with horrible writing. In fact, as I write this I realize that the cliff hanger was not enough to make me watch another episode.
She has a lot more experience playing a military role. She played in Jag…….
I would really hate to see Army Wives end and hope that there will be a season 7. This last season was incredible and the show is only getting better. I have really gotten attached to all the characters over the last several years.
I am furious with the ending where it’s pretty obvious 3 important to the show people are very probably dead, but there will be no true ending, leaving you to write your own, which is terribly unsatisfying. It is soooooooooooooooooo much better than some of the silly and stupid shows receiving emmies. Deals with all the complexities of life.
I am terribly sad and considering not watching CBS anymore AT ALL.
