TV show description:
In this fantasy TV series, Jason (Jack Donnelly) is a young man whose father disappeared years ago when he was a child. He pilots a one-man submarine to investigate a deep sea disturbance. When he gets close, the sub fails, he’s pulled into a white light, and Jason ends up on the shores of the ancient fabled kingdom of Atlantis.
A magical place filled with legendary creatures, secrets and deceit, Atlantis is ruled by traditional King Minos (Alexander Siddig) and his manipulative wife, Queen Pasiphae (Sarah Parish).
He’s befriended by a pair of unlucky locals — an overweight, hard-drinking former prize fighter named Hercules (Mark Addy) and Pythagoras (Robert Emms), an intellectual who’s very fond of triangles. The three encounter monsters, gods and demigods, as they live the Greek myths and battle to do good and protect the innocent.
Before long, Jason catches the eye and heart of the beautiful Ariadne, the princess of Atlantis whose family and royal standing restricts who she may love. This brings the young man face-to-face with the treachery of Queen Pasiphae.
Thankfully, Jason finds guidance and protection with the revered Oracle (Juliet Stevenson). He learns that Oracle was expecting him. It’s no mistake that he found the shores of the famed city -– it was fate.
Episode #25 — The Queen Must Die: Part Two
As Jason and Ariadne prepare to return to power in Atlantis, they must decide who they can trust. Anxieties run high as our heroes form new alliances with old enemies while questioning those they love. As they enter the city for the first time since Pasiphae’s death, only one thing is certain — nothing will ever be the same again.
First aired: August 8, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Atlantis TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
I’m a big history fan more then anything. That being said TV series such as Atlantis, Spartacus, even the Stargate TV series cause it brings history of our planet into it. Shows like Atlantis aren’t just shows they are stories of a times in our history. I say bring back Atlantis for another seven seasons, its definitely a must watch and deserves to be kept running.
I never cared much for British TV series until this show (Atlantis) became available. England has done it right. Damn nice show mate, loved the show and would like to see more!!
BRING BACK ATLANTIS!
Why would you end a great show the way you did, this is the only thing I want to watch, pkz bring it back and at least give us a good ending..
I loved that show. Especially after revealing that that a couple of the characters are gay. I really wanted to see how that developed!
This show was awesome. Being in the military it was a fun and exciting show to sit down to and relax after a long day. Wish it didn’t end the way it did though. Please bring it back.
Please make a movie followup..tie up loose ends. Don’t leave us hanging. This was a good show. It’s the reason I even started watching BBC in the first place.
I have been waiting for the rest of the episodes following “The Queen Must Die 2” and was so disappointed that they have not aired. Atlantis is the only reason I watch TV. There is so much trash. This show was awesome. Please at least show the rest of season 2 in the USA. Do consider bringing the show back for season and any others.
I know the series has been cancelled and all, but I had to write something somewhere about this. What the hell happened between season 1 and 2? I can take a guess at much of it I guess, but still. Jason saved Ariadne at the end there and Pasiphae finally ran into some trouble for being a conniving *****. Fast forward to the second season and all of a sudden the king is dead, of what we don’t know at least not in the series, and now Atlantis is at war. Again, I know the series was cancelled and seasons… Read more »
Nice little BBC show which should attract young male viewers. It even somewhat attracted this definitely not young male viewer. Simple production values with simple acting add up to a pretty simple, but pretty watchable show. A little bit of Sci-Fi combined with fantasy and mythology add up to this light entertainment. The mythology part of that tried is notable weak. If you use the mythology from this show to try to sound erudite, you’re going to sound pretty stupid. For some reason the writers chose to combine multiple mythological (some real) characters with mythological events with absolutely no regard… Read more »

So, next summer, will there be a Season 3 of Atlantis to look forward to? The disappointing answer actually dates all the way back to January 2015, when the news broke that the BBC had decided to cancel the show after just two seasons.
