TV show description:
In this fantasy TV series, Jason (Jack Donnelly) is a young man whose father disappeared years ago when he was a child. He pilots a one-man submarine to investigate a deep sea disturbance. When he gets close, the sub fails, he’s pulled into a white light, and Jason ends up on the shores of the ancient fabled kingdom of Atlantis.
A magical place filled with legendary creatures, secrets and deceit, Atlantis is ruled by traditional King Minos (Alexander Siddig) and his manipulative wife, Queen Pasiphae (Sarah Parish).
He’s befriended by a pair of unlucky locals — an overweight, hard-drinking former prize fighter named Hercules (Mark Addy) and Pythagoras (Robert Emms), an intellectual who’s very fond of triangles. The three encounter monsters, gods and demigods, as they live the Greek myths and battle to do good and protect the innocent.
Before long, Jason catches the eye and heart of the beautiful Ariadne, the princess of Atlantis whose family and royal standing restricts who she may love. This brings the young man face-to-face with the treachery of Queen Pasiphae.
Thankfully, Jason finds guidance and protection with the revered Oracle (Juliet Stevenson). He learns that Oracle was expecting him. It’s no mistake that he found the shores of the famed city -– it was fate.
Episode #25 — The Queen Must Die: Part Two
As Jason and Ariadne prepare to return to power in Atlantis, they must decide who they can trust. Anxieties run high as our heroes form new alliances with old enemies while questioning those they love. As they enter the city for the first time since Pasiphae’s death, only one thing is certain — nothing will ever be the same again.
First aired: August 8, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Atlantis TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
They left things up in the air, that sucks! At least if they were cancelling they could have put a few episodes on to wrap things up.
They need to bring Atlantis back, great show, bummed the way they ended season 2
Amazing show. Wish they kept it going.
I enjoyed watching Atlantis. Is was fun and had plenty of excitement. Yes I wished they had made a season 3. A great show they let get shutdown.
Renewed. Love it.
I’m going to keep it simple, we all want a season three and more.
I think they need to revive moonlight and bring it back on with new seasons it was a really really really good tv show. I feel the cw should work on it and bring it back with the same cast or most of them. I don’t want to see no more teen vampire tv shows. the cw has a few shows that need to go right a way. the cw should let us vote for what we like the most on there network. if they did that. that would be nice and it lets us help them to know what… Read more »
Need to continue Atlantis. Love this production
It should have been renewed for the third season
Excellent series. Watching on Netflix. The writing, directing, story lines, directing, all brilliant including reimagining of Greek Mythology. Incredibly disappointed it was cancelled. Promoting it to friends. Same happened with Merlin, started slow then took off. Hoping it will return. In the meantime watching it again and will purchase DVDs. One of the best series on any media. Liz
Renewed. The story was left a very annoying spot. Even Jack Donnelly the lead actor said he was “gutted” to find out that it was canceled. He said they had much already planned for the third season and had never intended for it to end after only two. There are many fans of this show and many new ones now that it has been released for streaming on CW Seed. I can only pray that someone picks up where BBC left off.
Should have kept it going. Better than most shows on tv today. Super sad it ended
Renewed. Should at least finished the story line.
Renewed. It should have never been cancelled. Great show. Very entertaining and keeps you wanting more.
It’s obvious they’re not going to bring it back but they do make money on it in syndication like CW-Seed. Maybe Netflix could pick it up they seem to have the foresight of listening to the fan base on a lot of shows. By continuing other shows from other networks like CBS.
