Tragedy strikes Ax Men. TVLine reports Ax Men star Gabe Rygaard was killed in a car accident last week in his home state of Washington.
Earlier this year, Rygaard announced the History series had been cancelled after nine seasons. His family’s logging company was featured in the docuseries, which chronicled the logging industry of the Pacific Northwest.
In May, Rygaard posted a message on Facebook saying there would be no 10th season of Ax Men:

Feeling sorry for the Rygaard families but they were only a part of the show. Would love to see it continue.
Sorry for the family lost I like him a lot he had a firm nest to him but also a good heart. Why do they always cancel show that you really like. I am sure he would like the show to go on.

I loved AX MEN, I’m really sorry that the Rygard family had a loss but I think that the show should continue!! I think GABE would have wanted it that way!!!
One of my favorite shows. Praying for the family over this tragic death. Gabe was one of my favorites. I do wish they would continue the show in memory of Gabe. I would bet that is what he would want.

Terrible news about Gabe. He was a guy grinding to make a business work. Grinding…. And he did it well. Don’t think this grown man would want the whole series cancelled but we all get it. Respect for Rygaard and all the companies making it happen.
