TV show description:
A drama, this TV series revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers. They have polar opposite views of the world and (possibly) a grudging respect for each other’s abilities as they clean up the streets of Battle Creek, Michigan.
Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) is a good but gruff and hard-boiled detective. He’s had his world turned upside down when strikingly handsome and charismatic Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) opens an FBI field office at the police station — and he chooses Russ to be his partner.
Milt’s polished sophistication and access to unlimited state-of-the-art equipment is impressive to his new co-workers in the absurdly underfunded department.
The pair work long hours together in the economically distressed city and it remains to be seen if Milt’s charm and endless supply of high-end resources or Russ’s old-fashioned cynicism, guile and deception will be the keys to catching the bad guys.
Other characters include Commander Guziewicz (Janet McTeer), Detective Fontanelle White (Kal Penn), Holly Dale (Aubrey Dollar), and Aaron Funkhauser (Edward Fordham, Jr.).
Episode #13 — Sympathy for the Devil
Milt survives a car bombing and enlists Russ to track down his would-be assassin, leading to startling revelations as to why Milt is the way he is and what brought him to Battle Creek.
First aired: May 24, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season instead?
Please do not cancel. The chemistry on this show is fantastic, and it is very witty while still addressing important issues. My new favorite show.
Please don’t cancel this hysterical well-written show. Advertisers should be aware that people over 50 often have more discretionary funds — with children grown and out of the house money is looser. Come on CBS do something for us 50s+.
Keep it
Fun twists and turns
Don’t cancel Battle Creek ..I finally found a show that is not boring …Dean Winters is awesome …and why is Survivor still on? …that is a moronic show
Love, love, love this show!!!!!! Ppplllleeeaaassseee don’t cancel!!!!!
Needs to be cancelled or get a new set of writers and some actors (Agnew). Dialogues are in monotone and this makes for a boring sitcom, not that we need to see everyone animated, but this is going way too far. There is no Pull for me. No good lines, no funny slap-stick stuff………….it’s just not my cup of tea. Cancel it and do everyone a big favor or get new writers and some new actors.
Great show! Love the dialogue, humor and the characters.
Terrific show. Funny and intelligent. Should grow is own and set a new more sophisticated standard. Kudos to the network for getting us out of our formula-based script writing fixation. Don’t cancel! !!!
This has to be the most mind numbing show I have ever seen. This is one the worst shows I have seen. I have never felt the need to write a review of a TV show but I am surprised at how bad this show is. I like the actors o think that they would be make a funny show together but the writing of this show is the worst I have seen in a long time.
I hope it is not cancelled! I love it.
This is a Great Show!!! Dean Winters and Josh Duhamel are Perfect Together!!!
My husband and I enjoyed the show. I can only hope that the network will give it a shot.
Battle Creek reminds me of a Rockford files type show, drama and comedy with very likable characters.
I will be recording the show, every episode! I get up at 5am, so no staying up that late for me.
Great show !
I agree! I thought Battle Creek was hysterical. I loved it! I noticed quite a few people wrote bad reviews. I don’t know what kind of humor they were expecting: slapstick, heavy-handed, crude, edgy? The humor of Battle Creek is understated and somewhat subtle. But to enjoy it, you have to listen to the dialog, watch all the facial expressions, pay attention to the rest of the cast and background as well. Maybe they aren’t familiar with Josh Duhamel’s style. If you see such movies as Win a Date With Tad Hamilton, When In Rome, Life As We Know It,… Read more »
I think you pretty much summed it up…It’s a chick flick like those others you mentioned. I tuned in because I’ve enjoyed the actual rough edgy stuff Dean Winters has been in. Here he plays the fool by comparison. I’ll watch one or two more with hope that it gets better, but this comedy is not all that suttle. To me it’s just really tame and more of the same crap they keep pushing on us instead of something creative. Not as bad as the tired old formula sitcoms they keep rehashing, but not too far behind
Yes, I guess you’re right. I laughed when I read your comment; I didn’t realize I was talking in chick-speak. But you got it; all the movies I named are what you’d call chick-flicks and the kind of comedy I like. I just didn’t realize that’s what I was saying. You’re a good translator. Thanks.
Nothing much new here. Disappointed as I like Josh Duhamel and still miss Vegas. Didn’t see any chemistry between the characters of Russ and Milt which is requirement for a buddy cop show. I now understand why they gave it the Sunday at 10 time slot. If this was supposed be “edgy” which seems to be what everything is shooting for these days it missed the mark as most what is being put out lately is.
LOVED the characters and storyline! Quite refreshing. Nothing like it on TV right now. Will keep watching this series. It’s set to record all episodes too!
I’ll give it a couple more shots, but it looks too much like another old formula program. The kind of poor planning they do with too many sitcoms also. Just try to make like some shows that made it once rather than take a chance an get creative. They even resurrected ol’ Dewy Crow from Justified, but made him a dumb detective rather than a dumb criminal. Not too sure that will work as well with him. Buddy cop shows really only work if they come across as probable, and the cops as someone you’d care what happens to. This… Read more »
