ABC has been searching for a ratings hit to fill the Sundays at 10pm timeslot. Turns out that Betrayal isn’t that show but could it still return for a second season? Has it already been cancelled?
Betrayal revolves around professional photographer Sara (Hannah Ware) and top attorney Jack (Stuart Townsend) who, despite being married to other people, have a torrid affair. Things become even more complicated when Sara’s husband and Jack end up on the opposite sides of a murder trial. The rest of the cast includes Henry Thomas, Chris Johnson, Wendy Moniz, Braeden Lemasters, Elizabeth McLaughlin, and James Cromwell.
The series debuted in September and got off to a slow start with a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.16 million total viewers. The numbers got even worse in week two, dropping more than 24%. In week three, they dropped another 26%.

In short, the ratings were awful but the network didn’t pull the series off the air and a rep even said that ABC was sticking with the show. Why? Likely because they’d already cancelled another new drama, Lucky 7, and fellow freshman Once Upon a Time in Wonderland was also tanking.
Though Betrayal’s ratings have leveled off, that doesn’t mean that ABC is any more satisfied with the numbers and there’s just no way that they’re bring it back for a second season. It’s still on the air because they didn’t have anything to take its place.
The network has released their plans for early 2014 and, to no surprise, Betrayal isn’t part of them. That’s not an outright cancellation but, realistically, there’s as much hope of this show coming back as there being a second season of Pan Am or GCB.
ABC has taken to calling Betrayal a limited series which wouldn’t have stopped them from making a second season had the ratings been stronger. Hopefully for the fans who have stuck with it, the show will end in a satisfying way and won’t not leave a bunch of unresolved storylines.

Please please please don’t cancel betrayal! It is one of the best shows I’ve seen! Every episode leaves me at the edge of my seat. Like others, I can’t decide on whether Sara should end up with jack or her husband lol. The last episode made me want to watch another. Please leave it on for another few seasons 🙂
Betrayal is a great show! I hope it isn’t cancelled. Few T.V. Offerings are as interesting and compelling .
Just with the mere fact that the show was competing with Sunday Night Football…I love Football so I always Dvr’d the show. After watching the last episode, it left me feeling like that was it!!!! There would not be additional shows. But, I too loved the show and and hope it returns. And just maybe if it’s put on a different day and time it would do better…So please ABC give it another shot! Thank You!

Absolutely not. It would be a huge mistake. I look forward to watching the show every week and can’t make up my mind if I want her to be with Jack of Drew. Please do not take this show off the air. Let there be a season 2 and 3 etc. Please reconsider.
I have really enjoyed the show. They’ve tied up many of the issues so that it could just end but left is with a small cliffhanger. Who is the wine for? I hope that’s a sign of hope. Bring it back for another season.

You can’t cancel the show! IT needs another chance as this is an amazing show that I look forward to watching every Sunday night. I’m always on edge when watching this it’s exciting, it’s romantic, its mysterious with a storyline but I can’t get enough of. I’m tired of these networks putting on shows and having them cancelled after a year. this show just needs a strong time slot as I know it will find its place with more viewers wondering why the heck they did not start watching it in the first place. Please renew for season 2.

I love this show…it is steamy, romantic, dramatic etc…but please do not take it off…just write better script like revenge…I love the actors in this show and can’t wait to see it each week.
Loved Betrayal. Too bad it was up against Revenge which had an earlier season and already had a following. Hate to see Betrayal cancelled. So many twists and turns kept it interesting
The show is worth watching because Of Sarah’s tears and Jacks torment … all because as you know you don’t get to pick who you love.
